We lift up ### and this urgent situation before our Heavenly Father, knowing that He cares deeply for both His people and the creatures He has made. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 6:26, *"See how the birds of the sky don’t sow, reap, or gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"* If God provides for the animals, how much more will He provide for those who trust in Him and seek to care for His creation?
Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in circumstances or last-minute solutions, but in the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things were made and by whom all things are sustained. It is only through faith in Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence. The Scriptures declare in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* If ### does not yet know Christ as Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him to the only One who can save—not just in this moment, but for eternity.
At the same time, we must address the reality that this situation reflects a lack of preparation and stewardship. Proverbs 21:5 tells us, *"The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and the plans of those who are in a hurry, to poverty."* While we cry out for God’s mercy in this hour, we also pray that ###—and all of us—would learn to walk in wisdom, planning ahead and trusting God daily rather than waiting until the final moment. The Lord honors faithfulness, and part of faithfulness is managing the resources He has given us with care.
We also recognize that this shelter is a tremendous responsibility. Three hundred dogs represent a massive need, and while caring for animals is commendable, we must ask: Is this burden one that the Lord has truly called ### to carry alone? Or has he taken on more than he can sustain without proper support? Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."* Perhaps this crisis is an opportunity for ### to seek out godly counsel, partnerships, or even a restructuring of how the shelter operates so that it can be sustainable in the long term.
Most importantly, we pray that ###’s heart would be turned toward Christ in this moment. If he does not yet know the Lord, we ask that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no greater miracle than salvation, and no earthly provision can compare to the eternal life found in Christ.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### and this desperate situation. Lord, You are the God who parts seas, who multiplies loaves, and who provides manna in the wilderness. Nothing is too hard for You. We ask that in this final hour, You would make a way where there seems to be no way. Touch the heart of the landlord, provide the needed funds supernaturally, or send help from an unexpected place. Let Your name be glorified in this, Lord, so that all who see it will know that You are a God of mercy and power.
But Father, we also pray for ###’s soul. If he does not know You, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself through this trial. Open his eyes to see that his greatest need is not financial provision, but salvation through Jesus Christ. Convict him of sin, Lord, and lead him to repentance. Surround him with believers who can disciple him and help him walk in wisdom.
We pray too for the future of this shelter. Give ### godly wisdom to manage it in a way that honors You. If this burden is too great for him alone, raise up helpers, volunteers, or even a new vision for how these animals can be cared for sustainably. Teach him to trust You daily, not just in emergencies, and to seek Your will in all things.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation to remind all of us of Your sovereignty. You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and You are never caught off guard by our needs. Forgive us for waiting until the last minute to cry out to You, and help us to walk in faithfulness and preparation.
We rebuked any spirit of fear, panic, or despair in Jesus’ name. We declare that You, Lord, are the provider, the sustainer, and the God of breakthroughs. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be praised.
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
