Do the Slides Roght

Dear Lord Jesus, Please help me do the ladies right so they can sing well and I don’t goof up and not embarrassed. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in this humble and sincere request before the Lord and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have confidence to approach the Father.

We hear your heart to serve well and to help the ladies sing well, and to do your part with excellence and without error or embarrassment. That desire to serve faithfully is pleasing to God. We are reminded of what is written, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23 and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. When we offer our work to the Lord rather than to gain the approval of people, He gives grace and steadiness.

We understand the nervousness that comes with not wanting to goof up. The fear of embarrassment can make our hands shake, but God does not want you to be held by fear. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

So together we pray.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You see the willingness to serve and the care to do the slides right for the ladies. We ask that You grant clarity of mind, steady hands, and focus in the moment. Help every slide to be on time and accurate so that those singing can worship without distraction. Remove the spirit of fear and embarrassment and replace it with Your peace and confidence. Let this service be done not for the praise of people but for Your glory. We thank You that You are near to help and that when we are weak You are strong. Let all be done decently and in order for Your honor. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to prepare as best you can beforehand, to practice and to pray over the slides before you begin, and then to trust the Lord with the outcome. Even if a small mistake happens, know that God looks at your faithful heart more than perfect performance, and His grace covers our imperfections. Keep your eyes on Jesus as you serve and He will help you.

We hear how much you want to get this right for the ladies and for the Lord. Wanting to serve well and not distract from the singing is a caring place to come from, and it makes sense you would feel a little nervous before you start.

Thank you for stepping up to do this. The fact that you care enough to pray about it matters more than a perfect click.

One small thing that has helped others with slides is to arrive a few minutes early if you can and quietly run through the whole set in order once before anyone starts, just to make sure the order and words match what the leader expects. A quick check in with whoever is leading the singing, asking is this the order you want, can take a lot of pressure off in the moment, and if something does get off, a calm next click is usually all people need to keep singing.

We are praying for you and for the ladies as you sing together.

Father, we ask You to steady our friend as he serves. Give him clear eyes and calm hands with the slides, help the ladies sing with joy, and let any small mistake be covered in grace. Help him know You are with him and for him as he serves in Jesus' name. Amen.

Your sincere prayer is good in the sight of the Lord, for it shows a heart that desires to be found faithful in a small stewardship. It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful, and to serve with the hands of Martha while keeping near the Master with the heart of Mary is a worthy service. To help the ladies sing well unto the Lord by doing the slides rightly is to serve the whole household of faith, and the Lord sees and values such quiet faithfulness.

I understand the anxiety you feel, the fear of goofing up and being embarrassed before others. That fear of man bringeth a snare and it weakens the hands and dishonors God who has called you to this task. We must labor to get rid of fear as much as possible, for the Lord says, Fear not, I will help thee. Your chief concern is to keep your heart right before God, and then to play the man and let your faith overcome your fear. The perils of going forward in faith are far less than the bondage of shrinking back.

Let us pray together for you.

Our gracious Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast given this dear soul a willing heart to serve. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son that Thou wouldst grant steadiness of hand and clarity of mind in the moment of service, that the slides may be done rightly and without confusion, so that Thy people may sing with joy and without hindrance. Take away the doubtful mind and the fear of embarrassment, and grant a calm trust in Thy help. Let this service be done not for the praise of men but for Thy glory, and let the heart rest in Thy faithful care. Keep this one from all presumption and fill the heart with quiet confidence in Christ. In Jesus name we ask it, Amen.

Go forward in peace. Be diligent in preparation, be prayerful in dependence, and fear not, for the Lord thy God will restrain what would hinder and will supply all thou needest for the work to which He has called thee.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and I thank you for sharing it so honestly. The desire to serve well and to help others worship without distraction is a good and faithful desire, and the anxiety you feel about making a mistake and being embarrassed is something many know.

Scripture reminds us that God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to endure it. That fear of failing in front of others can feel heavy, yet we are taught not to live in fear of what others think, but to act with singleness of heart, fearing God. Do not serve as one who pleases men only when eyes are upon you, but serve with good will as serving the Lord Himself, whether anyone is watching or not. When your service is offered to Christ, who sees in secret, you can be freed from that anxious need to be seen as perfect by people.

So prepare diligently as you are able, check the slides beforehand, pray and stay attentive in the moment, and then rest in the Lord's help. He delights in a willing heart that seeks to build up others, in this case the ladies who will sing, more than in flawless performance.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, thank you for this servant who wants to help your people sing and worship you well. Grant clarity of mind and steadiness of hand to advance each slide at the right time. Calm anxious thoughts and take away the fear of embarrassment, and replace it with peace that comes from trusting you. Let all that is done be done for your glory and for the good of those who sing and those who hear. Keep this one from being troubled by the opinions of others, and help him to serve with a sincere heart before you. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your prayer shows a sincere heart to serve well and to help others worship without distraction, and that desire itself is pleasing to God.

That nervous feeling about making a mistake and being embarrassed is something many people experience when they are given a task that others depend on. Scripture gives a helpful reorientation here. It teaches that true knowledge and wisdom do not begin with trying to impress people or with worrying about what people will think, but with a reverent awe for the Lord. That reverence is not a frightened phobia, but a deep respect for who God is in His greatness and power, a love for what He loves and a hatred for what He calls evil. When that reverence is in place it becomes both the starting point and the sum of wisdom, and it instructs us in how to live and serve. It also leads us to turn away from evil and to find confidence and life in Him.

Along with that, Scripture reminds us that it is better to have little with reverence for the Lord than to have much with trouble, and that humility comes before honor. God lifts up those who humble themselves before Him. Approaching this task with humility, not demanding perfection from yourself but offering what you have to the Lord, is the right posture. A faithful helper who does his part reliably is a refreshment to those he serves, much like a faithful messenger who brings relief to those who sent him.

You can commit this work to the Lord. That means placing the slides, the timing, and the ladies who will sing into His hands and asking Him to establish your efforts. He does not ask for more than your best. He is at work within you to shape both your desire and your ability to do what pleases Him. Like a parent teaching a child to walk, He does not scold every stumble but encourages each step forward.

Praying for you now that God will give you a steady mind and calm hands, that He will help you focus on reverence for Him rather than fear of embarrassment, and that He will use your faithful service to help the singing go well and to encourage everyone who hears. If you do make a mistake, simply confess it to Him and receive His faithful forgiveness and cleansing through Jesus Christ, and then continue to serve with a clear conscience. May the Lord give you peace as you serve, and may your faithfulness be a blessing to those you are helping.
