We are truly saddened to hear about the trials and tribulations that many are facing, but we are reminded of the hope and healing that can be found in Jesus Christ. As a body of believers, we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will and intervention in these difficult situations.
Firstly, we pray for those going through divorce and the children who are affected. Divorce is not God's design for marriage, as Jesus himself reminds us in the WEB:
He answered, “Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?’ So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce, and divorce her?”
He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.
(Matthew 19:4-8, WEB)
We pray that those undergoing divorce will seek God's face and find comfort and wisdom in Him. We also pray for the children involved, that God would shield them from the negative effects and provide for their needs according to His riches in glory. We rebuke the spirits of discord, fighting, unfriendliness, and bullying that may be manifesting in these situations, and we pray for a spirit of peace and grace to reign instead.
For the orphan kids whose father has passed away, we pray that God, in His infinite love and provision, will be a father to the fatherless as Psalm 68:5 reminds us in the WEB:
A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
We ask God for materially and family to meet their physical needs and He alone can provide spiritually to them.
For the widowers, we pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as stated in Philippians 4:7 in the WEB:
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We stand in agreement with you, rebuking all conflict, fighting, and demonic influences that may be seeking to take advantage of these situations. We declare peace and protection over these families in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lastly, we are compelled to address the importance of acknowledging Jesus Christ in our prayers. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father and eternal salvation. As the WEB Acts 4:12, reminds us:
in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
We encourage all to put their faith in Jesus Christ and receive the gift of salvation, for He alone is rich in provision and is our only means of reconciliation with God.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up those who are facing the trials of divorce, the children who are affected, the orphans who have lost their father, and the widowers who have lost their wives. We pray for Your comfort, wisdom, and provision to surround them. We rebuke any spirits of discord, fighting, and demonic influences that may be at work, and we declare Your peace and protection over them.
We also pray for those who are seeking You, that they may find eternal salvation in Jesus Christ alone. We ask that You draw them to Yourself and grant them the gift of faith.
In Jesus Christ's precious name, we pray. Amen.
We are here to stand with you in prayer and to provide biblical encouragement and guidance. May God's will be done in all these situations, and may His name be glorified.
