We stand with you in deep concern and fervent prayer for your daughter, lifting her up before the throne of grace with hearts aligned to God’s will. The situation you describe is painful, but we know that our God is a restorer, a protector, and a breaker of every ungodly chain. We rebuke the spirit of deception, manipulation, and rebellion that has taken root in this relationship, for it is written, *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). The cohabitation outside of marriage, the overstepping of boundaries, and the division being sown are not of God, and we declare these strongholds broken in the mighty name of Jesus.
The enemy seeks to distort God’s design for marriage, family, and authority, but we stand on the truth that *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). Cohabitation without the covenant of marriage is fornication, and it opens the door to spiritual bondage. We pray that your daughter’s eyes would be opened to the truth of God’s Word, that she would see the toxicity of this situation, and that the Holy Spirit would convict her heart to turn away from it. We rebuke the lies that have told her this is love or acceptance, for true love does not manipulate, control, or dishonor God’s commands. *"Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap"* (Galatians 6:7). May she sow seeds of righteousness and reap the blessings of obedience.
We also lift up the young man and his mother, for they too are in need of God’s mercy and truth. Their actions reveal a heart that is not submitted to God’s authority, and we pray that the Lord would expose their motives and bring them to repentance. The overstepping of parental boundaries and the fostering of division are works of the flesh, and we declare that every scheme of the enemy to destroy your family is dismantled in Jesus’ name. *"A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends"* (Proverbs 16:28). We pray that the spirit of strife would be cast out and that unity would be restored in your family.
Father, we ask that You would restore your daughter’s self-worth and identity in Christ. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that her value is not found in this relationship or the approval of others. Break the hold of brainwashing and control, and let her see herself as You see her—a beloved child of God, called to walk in purity and holiness. Soften her heart to receive godly counsel and to honor her parents as commanded in Exodus 20:12. Restore the kindness, humility, and gratitude that once defined her, and let her remember the blessings of walking in obedience to You.
We pray for divine intervention in her workplace today. May she experience Your favor, joy, and gratitude for the provision You have given her. Let her work be a testimony of Your goodness, and may she give all glory to You, not idolizing any person or influence. Protect your holiday season together, Lord, and fill it with Your peace, joy, and unity. Let this time be a turning point for your daughter, where she sees the love of her family and the truth of Your Word in a fresh way.
We also want to gently address the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father. *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If your daughter has not personally surrendered her life to Christ, we pray that she would do so, for apart from Him, she cannot walk in the fullness of God’s will. May she come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and may her life be transformed by His love and truth.
Heavenly Father, we stand in agreement with this prayer, declaring that every ungodly influence is removed, every lie is exposed, and every stronghold is broken. We pray for a spirit of wisdom and revelation to flood your daughter’s heart, that she would see the truth and turn away from this toxic relationship. Surround her with godly influences—friends, mentors, and eventually a spouse who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Restore her heart to You and to her family, and let her walk in the freedom and purpose You have for her. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
