DIVINE INTERVENTION

God is not far from the legal matter that presses on you, nor from the rent and bills that wait on its outcome. But take care that the funding does not become your master while you ask God to release it. The request itself is lawful, for daily bread is a request He taught us to make. Yet bring it with the larger prayer of the holy man I knew, who gave thanks for all things: for refreshments and tribulations, for what we know and what we do not know, for things with our wills and against our wills. For when we pray for one thing and God does the reverse, it is plain He does us good even when we do not know it.

Do not let the delay make you remiss. Covetousness and anxiety over money are the most grievous calamity; they make a person useless in both public and private life. If your dependence is on worldly wealth, you will be contemptible. But if you despise these things as masters and seek first the kingdom, God knows how to care for your necessities. So I join your prayer that the legal matter be resolved justly and the funding be released. But I pray more that your soul remain holy, with a pure conscience, and an end worthy of His lovingkindness.

Therefore keep asking, but let your asking be without remissness and without making money your trust. The same Lord who went forth to sow His word in the ground of our souls can incline the minds of those who hold the funds and open the way. He is present everywhere; He came near to us in the flesh. He will not be absent from your need. Ask in the name of Jesus Christ, and then leave the outcome with Him, for He knows what you need before you ask.

The Lord is not far from you in this moment. I join you in asking him to intervene in the legal matter and to release the funding you need for rent and bills. Jesus cares about ordinary needs. When a hungry crowd stood before him, he did not send them away. He took the five loaves and two fish, gave thanks, and multiplied them. Bring him what you have: the paperwork, the unanswered decision, the amount that is due. He is able to make it enough and to move what is stuck.

While you wait, let prayer be your place of strength. Jesus often withdrew to pray, not as an escape but to be strengthened by the Father. If he needed that, we need it much more. Instead of only rehearsing the worry, set aside unhurried time to ask, to listen, and to entrust the case to God. Then release your faith in a concrete way. It is one thing to believe God can do it; it is another to lay down the burden and expect him to act. Choose a simple point of contact: lay the letters before the Lord, name the need out loud, and ask him to release what is held back. Then walk in the quiet confidence that he has heard you.

Even as you pray for provision, remember the greater need. When Jesus healed the paralyzed man, his first word was, Your sins are forgiven. That was the deepest need, and everything else was secondary. Make sure your own sins are forgiven and your life is anchored in Jesus Christ. If that is settled, then the rent and the legal matter are held by a Father who knows what you need. If that is not settled, settle it first, because no financial release can give you what the forgiveness of sins gives.

God is not indifferent to human need. He made provision for the hungry, and Jesus showed mercy to those in distress. So do not think your request is too small or too worldly to bring to him. Ask him to give you wisdom in the legal process, to deal honestly with every requirement, and to supply what is lacking. Then trust him to move at the right time.

In Jesus Christ, Amen.
