Divine guidance

Kensem

Beloved of All
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”
Proverbs 29:18

Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join you in lifting up this situation before the Lord and we agree with you in Jesus name for divine guidance to bring order where there has been wild and disrespectful behavior.

You have quoted Proverbs 29:18 so well, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. We see the truth of this in what you describe. When hearts reject the Lord's counsel they do run wild, and trouble follows for everyone around them. We also remember Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. This is the guidance we pray your former landlord and those around him will finally accept.

We rebuke the wildness, disrespect and trouble that has been caused, for such behavior does not honor God and does not reflect His call to live in peace and respect toward others. At the same time we are called to respond not with vengeance but with prayer and trust in God's justice. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men and Romans 12:19 reminds us Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We also hear the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.

We thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is a joy to come together in that precious name.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we ask for your mercy and divine guidance to fall upon this former landlord and the people around him. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to submit to you. Remove the spirit of strife and wildness and replace it with a hunger for your law and your wisdom, that they may find the joy that comes from obedience. We pray that you would convict them where they have been disrespectful and caused trouble, and lead them to repentance, for you are patient, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance as we read in 2 Peter 3:9. We ask also that you protect and encourage the one who has been affected by this trouble, grant peace that surpasses understanding, guard the heart from bitterness, and let justice and restoration be done according to your perfect will. Help us all to keep our eyes on you and to walk in your ways. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for bringing this situation to us. Dealing with a former landlord and those around him when things have felt wild and disrespectful is exhausting, and it makes sense you would long for peace and for God to bring order.

We join you in asking God to work in his heart and to draw him toward wisdom and humility. We also pray God guards your own peace and helps you respond with clarity while this is still unresolved.

One thing that has helped others in ongoing tension like this is to pause before any contact to pray and get clear on facts, then keep interactions brief, calm, and documented. If you have a trusted pastor, mediator, or even a neutral third party in your community, it can help to let them speak into next steps with you so you are not carrying the weight alone. That kind of support can also keep emotions from escalating and help you discern the wisest boundaries going forward.

Father, we ask You to bring Your guidance to this former landlord and to those around him, soften what is hard and restrain what is harmful. Give our friend wisdom, protection, and steady peace as they navigate this, and lead all involved toward what is right and respectful. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your citation of Proverbs is most true and seasonable, for when divine guidance is refused men do run wild, and where the law of the Lord is obeyed there is joy. Where there is no vision, no word from God heeded and honored, restraint is cast off and trouble follows as surely as night follows day.

You speak of a former landlord and of those round about him who have been wild and disrespectful. Bear in mind that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord and we are only tenants. There is a clause in every man's lease which is too often unobserved, namely that the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to deal with His own property. The rent that is due to Him is not silver and gold but a heart rendered up in faith and obedience, a life set in order before Him. It is our duty to set our house in order and to offer the key of our house to that great Landlord and to acknowledge that we live on sufferance as His tenants. When a man refuses this, when he will not pay his rent of humble submission and will not set his house in order, he lives as if the house were his own, and wildness and strife are the fruit.

There is a peace which is no peace at all, when conscience is made to lie still and men cry peace, peace where there is no peace. Satan will give such a false quiet to confirm his power over the heart. But the peace which is a blessing, the peace which is the child of God and like its Father, is peace with God through the blood of Jesus, and peace in the conscience which flows from it as a crystal stream from its fountain. Christ has made peace by His blood, He Himself is our peace, and there is no other foundation that any man can lay. Apart from Him there is no solid peace, and after false peace there comes a terrible alarm.

Let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name whereby we can be saved and no other ambassador by whom peace with God can be made.

O Lord, the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, look in mercy upon this former landlord and upon those who are with him. Thou art the great Landlord of all houses and hearts, and to Thee every tenant must give account. Grant to him divine guidance, open his eyes to see his need, and bring him to submit himself unto Thee. Take away the wildness and disrespect which have caused so much trouble, and work in him a renewed heart that loves Thy law. Forbid that he should rest in a false peace, but bring him to true peace with Thee through Jesus Christ who is our peace. And for Thy servant who has been troubled by these things, keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee. Let the blood of Jesus whisper peace within, and let him know that great peace have they which love Thy law and nothing shall offend them. Give rest even while duties press and sorrows surge round, for to do the will of Jesus is rest.

May the Lord bless His people with such peace as passes all understanding, a filling peace, a well founded peace in believing, and keep you till earthly struggles shall cease and He calls you to Heaven's perfect peace.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation.

You quoted Proverbs 29:18 truly, that when people do not accept divine guidance they run wild, but whoever obeys the law is joyful. It is right to desire that your former landlord and those around him would turn from a wild and disrespectful way and submit to God, for only in obedience is there true joy and peace.

We pray for you as well in this trouble. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord, and our Lord says, My peace I give unto you. The peace He gives is not like the peace of this world, but a peace that keeps the heart even when there is trouble around us. God is not a God of war and fighting, and we are called to be peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Even when a brother wars against us, we are to remain peaceful, remembering no evil, and imitating the Son of God.

Therefore do not let this conflict steal your treasure above. If earthly things are troubled or taken, they cannot injure the treasure that is with God, if we keep our hearts set on Him. Instead of rushing into conflict, we wait quietly and stand nobly when we must, showing freedom from vainglory and nobleness of spirit. Toward those who are still hardened, we are to exhort gently and be patient toward all men, not ceasing to hope for them.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask that You would work in the heart of this former landlord and in those around him. Bring them to see their need for Your guidance, grant them repentance and faith in Christ, and lead them to submit to Your word. Turn them from wild and disrespectful ways to joyful obedience. Restrain further trouble and cause them to act with respect and honesty. For our brother and sister who has been troubled by this, grant Your peace that guards the heart, strengthen them to follow peace with all men, to exhort with gentleness, and to live in holiness before You. Help them to remember no evil and to entrust all conflict to Your just and merciful hands. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Continue to walk in obedience and seek the Lord daily, for there is joy and strength in His law. As you do, trust that He sees your affliction and will use even this trial to make you stronger and more near to Him.
