Divine guidance

Kensem

Beloved of All
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”
Proverbs 29:18

Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join you in bringing this situation before the Lord and we agree with you in Jesus' name for divine guidance to prevail.

You quoted Proverbs 29:18 so well, where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. We have seen how true this is, when people reject God's wisdom and instruction they do run wild, and disrespect and trouble follow. We also remember Romans 12:18 which says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, and Matthew 5:44 which says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. This is not easy when someone has caused a lot of trouble, but it is the divine guidance we ourselves are called to follow.

We lift up your former landlord and those around him who have been acting in this wild and disrespectful way. We pray together that God in His mercy would draw them to Himself, that they would submit to Him and accept His divine guidance and correction. We pray that the Lord would soften their hearts, convict them of any wrongdoing, and lead them to repentance. We remember that the Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance as it says in 2 Peter 3:9, and we ask for that work to be done in their lives, that they would turn from running wild and instead find the joy that comes from obeying God's law.

We also pray for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness and give you His peace. We ask that He would protect you from further trouble and that He would be your defender and your refuge. Romans 12:19 reminds us Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We can trust God to deal justly and rightly with this situation while we rest in His care. We pray Philippians 4:6-7 over you, that in nothing you would be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, your requests would be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. We ask that You would pour out Your divine guidance upon this former landlord and his circle. Bring order where there has been wildness, bring respect where there has been disrespect, and bring repentance where there has been trouble. Lead them into the joy of walking in Your ways. At the same time, cover the one who has been affected by this with Your protection and comfort, and help them to walk in forgiveness and wisdom, keeping their eyes on You. We trust You to work all things for good and to be glorified in this situation. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Dealing with a former landlord and the people around him who have been wild and disrespectful is wearing, especially when it has caused ongoing trouble where you live. It makes sense you would want God to bring His guidance and calm into that situation.

We hear your heart in this, not just for the trouble to stop, but for him to turn toward God and walk in a different way. That is a kind and faithful way to pray, and we are joining you in it. We are also praying for your own peace and wisdom as you navigate what has been difficult.

One thing that can help in ongoing community conflict is to keep a simple record of what happens and when, and not to carry it alone. If you need to address anything further, having a steady third party involved, a pastor, a trusted mediator, or the appropriate local authority, can keep communication clearer and less heated and give you support.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You and ask You to draw him to Yourself and guide him toward what is right and respectful. We ask for Your protection and peace over this community, and for wisdom and steadiness for our friend as they respond. Lead them in Your will and guard their heart from discouragement. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request is heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, for the proverb you quote is true and solemn. When men cast off divine guidance they run wild, and where there is no submission to the Lord there will be no regard for His law nor for the peace of neighbours. You have felt the trouble of this in the disrespect and wildness you describe, and it is right to seek the Lord concerning it.

God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all, and therefore He can have no fellowship with darkness. He deals with things in the light, treating them as they are. If any man is to walk with God he must stand in the light and present himself before God as he is, confessing his need and turning from the way of iniquity. Our prayer for this former landlord and those around him is not that God would overlook their actions, but that He would shine His light upon them, that they might see their condition and be brought to repentance. The heart by nature is possessed by sinful lusts which will destroy the soul if grace does not intervene, and only the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse from sin and only Christ Himself can overcome the enemy of souls. He is the way and the truth, and if a man would be delivered from darkness he must come to Christ.

We therefore pray in the name of Jesus that the Lord in mercy would work in this man to submit himself to God and to accept divine guidance. May the Holy Spirit convince him of sin and lead him to seek salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we may be saved. May that change be wrought in him which transforms the lion into a lamb, so that he who has been wild may learn to hate sin and to love the law of the Lord. Where there has been strife, may there be a new desire for honest dealing with God and with men.

And for you who have borne this trouble, we pray that you may know that peace which belongs to those who love God's law. Great peace have they which love thy law, and nothing shall offend them. This does not mean that all men will be at peace with you, for he who loves the Lord will often find the world still at enmity, but it does mean there is a peace within, a perfect peace even when duties press and sorrows surge round, because the enormous debt of sin has been discharged by the Lord Jesus for all who believe, and the heart is kept by Him. Leave your sorrow with Jesus, bear it with Him, and you shall find calm upon His bosom even in this dark world of sin.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who art light without any darkness, look in mercy upon this man and those with him. Bring them out of darkness into Thy marvellous light. Grant them repentance and faith in Thy Son Jesus Christ, that they may submit to Thy guidance and walk in obedience to Thy holy law. Restrain what is wild and unholy, and make them to know the joy of obeying Thee. And for Thy servant who has been troubled, grant great inward peace through loving Thy law and trusting in the finished work of Christ. Keep this one from bitterness, and let all be dealt with in truth and light, to the glory of Thy name. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our peace and our salvation. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for divine guidance has been heard and I join you in bringing it before God with you. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that without God leading us we lose our way, but when we obey His law there is joy and order, and that is what we ask for now.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have peace with God and access to the Father, that your former landlord would submit his heart to God and accept His guidance. May the Lord soften his heart, turn him from what is wild and disrespectful, and lead him to seek what is right. May God grant him repentance and a desire to walk in obedience, so that the trouble and strife that has surrounded him would cease. We do not ask God to bless what is wrong, but we ask Him to bring correction, peace, and a true change of heart.

I also pray for you, that God would keep you in His peace. Scripture teaches that God is not a God of war and fighting, and that blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God. Even when another wars against you, you can show the character of Christ by seeking peace, by not holding on to past wrongs, and by entrusting justice to God. May He guard your heart from bitterness, help you to despise quarrels that come from the things of this life, and give you wisdom to remain quiet and watchful in prayer, waiting on Him rather than rushing into conflict.

May the grace and peace that come from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ rest upon you and remain with you. May He who entered into heaven to appear for us before the Father hear this prayer, put all that opposes His will under His feet in His time, and perfect His work in every heart that turns to Him. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Your prayer request has been heard and I am joining you in prayer in the name of Jesus for your former landlord and for those around him.

You quoted Proverbs well. When people refuse the guidance and instruction of God, life becomes unrestrained and chaotic, but there is joy and blessing in walking in obedience to His word. What you have described as wild and disrespectful behavior is the fruit of a heart that is still at war with God. Scripture is clear that there is no lasting peace for those who continue in rebellion, they remain like a troubled sea that cannot rest.

God desires something very different for every person, including this man. He has offered a peace treaty to all who are at enmity with Him. That peace with God is only possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, through His blood on the cross. We cannot know the peace of God in our hearts until we have first received the grace of God and been forgiven and reconciled to Him. Jesus alone is our peace. He breaks down the walls between us and God and brings the war to an end.

That is why I am praying that your former landlord will come to see his need for that grace, that he will turn from his own way and submit his life to Jesus Christ. Pray that God will soften his heart, open his eyes to the forgiveness that is offered, and bring him to a place where he is no longer fighting against God but belongs to Him. When a person is reconciled to God, the inner turmoil begins to be healed and a deep and steady peace can take its place, a peace that the world cannot understand or give.

I am also praying for you as you have been affected by this trouble. Even in the midst of conflict and disrespect from others, God wants you to know not only peace with Him but the ongoing peace of God guarding your heart and mind. That perfect peace is kept for the one whose mind is stayed on the Lord because he trusts in Him. As you keep your thoughts fixed on Christ and trust Him to take care of what you cannot control, His peace will fill your heart and steady your life. This is the peace Jesus promised to leave with His disciples, not as the world gives.

May the Lord also help you to be one who sows peace. Jesus taught that those who make peace are called the children of God, and wisdom from above is peaceable. Those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. Even when others act harshly, you can continue to walk in His wisdom and leave the outcome with Him.

Let us pray together. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and lift up this former landlord and the people around him. You see the strife and disrespect that has caused so much trouble. We ask that You would work in his heart by Your Holy Spirit, that he would hear Your call to peace and receive Your grace through Jesus Christ. Bring him to repentance and to submission to Your guidance, that his life would be transformed and bear the fruit of righteousness. And for the one who has been hurt by this situation, grant perfect peace as his mind stays on You, and guard his heart with the peace that passes all understanding. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our peace. Amen.
