We join you in bringing this situation before the Lord, for we know how difficult and wearing it can be to deal with those who are wild and disrespectful and who cause trouble. You have shared a true word from Proverbs 29:18, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. When people reject divine guidance they do run wild, living without restraint, without respect for others, and without fear of God, but there is joy and blessing for those who submit to Him and walk in obedience.
We see in your request a desire not for revenge but for redemption, that this former landlord and those around him would submit to God and accept His guidance. That is a godly prayer, and it aligns with the heart of God who does not wish that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance as we read in 2 Peter 3:9. We also remember the call of our Lord in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And we are reminded in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We gently rebuke the wild and disrespectful behavior you have described, for it does not reflect the fruit of the Spirit or a life submitted to Christ, and we pray that the Lord would convict and correct those who are acting in this way.
We pray together in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this former landlord and the people around him to You. We ask that You would soften their hearts, that You would draw them to Yourself and cause them to submit to You and to accept Your divine guidance. Take away the heart of stone and give them a new heart and a new spirit as You have promised in Ezekiel 36:26. Lead them away from running wild and into joyful obedience to Your law. Where there has been disrespect and trouble, bring conviction, repentance, and peace. We ask that You would restrain any further harm, that You would protect and give peace to the one who has been troubled by these actions, and that You would help us all to trust in You with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, to acknowledge You in all our ways so that You will direct our paths according to Proverbs 3:5-6. Help us to walk in forgiveness and not bitterness, to leave justice in Your hands, and to keep our own hearts joyful through obedience to You. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for this man and those with him, and to continue to seek divine guidance for yourself. God sees the trouble that has been caused and He is both just and merciful. As you keep His law and walk in His ways, He will guard your heart with His peace and give you joy even in the midst of difficulty. We stand with you in prayer that the Lord will bring order where there has been wildness, respect where there has been disrespect, and that He will be glorified as hearts turn to Him.
