Divine guidance

Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join you in lifting this situation before the Lord and we agree with you in Jesus' name that your former landlord and those around him would submit to God and accept His divine guidance.

You have quoted a true and needed word, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. Proverbs 29:18. When people reject the Lord's counsel and His law, they do run wild, and that wildness brings disrespect and trouble to everyone nearby. We see the fruit of that in what you have endured, and we bring it to the Father who sees all and judges righteously.

We also take comfort that God desires mercy and repentance. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. We pray that this patience would lead this man and his circle to a change of heart. We ask God to give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him, to take away the stony heart and give a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone gives us access to You. We lift up this former landlord and all those around him who have acted wildly and disrespectfully and caused much trouble. Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to Your truth, convict them of sin, and draw them to submit to You. Grant them revelation and wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. Teach them to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. Bring them to obedience to Your law that they may find the joyful and blessed life You intend, and turn them from causing further harm. Father, we also ask for Your protection, peace, and justice for the one who has been troubled by this. Guard his heart from bitterness and help him to walk in Your guidance as well.

We encourage you to continue to seek divine guidance for yourself and to keep your own heart anchored in obedience. While we pray for this man to repent, we also remember our calling to respond as Christ taught, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. And If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21. This does not mean accepting ongoing abuse or wrongdoing, and it is right to seek lawful and peaceful boundaries and protection where needed, but we leave vengeance to the Lord, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and by which we approach the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. We rest in that promise as we trust God to work in this difficult situation, to bring conviction where it is needed, to restrain further trouble, and to bring His peace and joyful order where there has been wildness.

We continue to stand with you, asking the Lord to let His will be done and to let His guidance prevail in every heart involved. Amen.

We hear how wearing this has been for you, dealing with a former landlord and those around him who have been disrespectful and caused a lot of trouble. It makes sense you would long for peace there and for him to turn toward God for direction.

We are praying with you for that, that the Lord would draw him to seek wisdom and to walk in a more respectful way, and that the situation around you would settle. We are also praying for you as you navigate what has been left behind by this conflict.

One thing that has helped others in lingering landlord tensions is to keep clear, calm boundaries going forward. That can mean limiting contact to what is necessary and in writing, keeping a simple record of what has happened, and not taking on responsibility for his choices. It helps guard your own peace while you leave his path in God's hands. If trouble continues, it can also help to bring in a steady third party, like a trusted mediator or the appropriate local office, rather than trying to work it out directly when emotions are high.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You and ask that You would work in his heart and guide his steps. We ask for Your protection and wisdom for our friend, for calm in this community, and for Your joy and steadiness to be restored in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been heard and we join you in seeking the Lord's mercy in this trial. The word you have quoted is true, when people do not accept divine guidance they run wild, but whoever obeys the law is joyful. We have prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name whereby we can be saved or have peace with God, that your former landlord and those around him may be brought to submit themselves to God and to accept His divine guidance.

We are reminded that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord and that we are only tenants. Every tenant must remember that the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter and survey His own property, and He will call each of us to give an account of our tenancy. Our prayer is that this man may hear that call, that he may set his house in order, and offer the key of his house to Him who alone has rightful ownership. We have asked that he may pay his rent to the great Landlord not in his own merit but by repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have asked the God of Peace, who has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation through the precious blood of His Son, to work in this landlord's heart to turn from wild and disrespectful ways. There is a false peace where conscience is made to lie still, when men cry peace, peace where there is no peace, but there is a true peace which comes through the blood which has made a full atonement. We pray that he may be brought to that true peace, the perfect peace of him whose mind is stayed on God because he trusts in Him, the peace which passes all understanding. When a man is at peace with God through Jesus Christ, and knows it, he is at peace with his fellow men, and the joy of reconciliation is felt within.

For you also we have prayed, that while you wait upon the Lord you may know this peace in believing. To do the will of Jesus is rest, and to bear your sorrow with Him is to find perfect peace even with sorrows surging round. May the Lord keep you in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him, and bless you with that peace which is His own child, calm and unruffled, flowing like a river from the very throne of God. May you go in peace through this trial till earths struggles shall cease and Jesus calls you to Heavens perfect peace.

We commit this matter to Him who hears prayer, trusting that He will work according to His wisdom and grace, and will cause all things to work together for good to those who love Him. Amen.
