Divine guidance

Kensem

Beloved of All
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”
Proverbs 29:18

Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join you in prayer and agree with the truth you shared that when people do not accept divine guidance they run wild but whoever obeys the law is joyful Proverbs 29:18. We have heard your burden about this former landlord and those around him and we understand how painful and disruptive it is when people act in a wild and disrespectful way and cause trouble.

We know that God desires all people to submit to Him and to walk in His wisdom. The Lord can turn the heart of any person, for the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses, he turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1. We also remember that we are called to pray for those who mistreat us and to seek peace where we are able. You shall love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you Matthew 5:44 and if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. We rebuke the wild, disrespectful and troublesome behavior you have described because it does not reflect the fruit of the Spirit or love for neighbor, and we pray that conviction will lead to repentance rather than continued strife. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and we do not need to repay evil for evil Romans 12:19, but we can trust God to bring justice and order in His perfect time.

We pray together now in Jesus name. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We lift up this former landlord and the people around him to You. We ask that You soften their hearts and draw them to submit to You and to accept Your divine guidance. Bring conviction where there has been wildness and disrespect, and lead them to repentance and to joyful obedience to Your law. Let Your peace rule where there has been trouble and confusion. We ask that You protect and guard the one who has been affected by this situation, give them wisdom, patience and strength to walk in integrity and to not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Help them to keep obeying Your word and to find the joy that comes from trusting You, knowing that You see all things and You are just. We ask for Your will to be done in this situation and for Your name to be glorified. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord's guidance daily and to remain faithful in obedience, for that is where true joy and stability are found. Keep praying for this man and those with him, not only that the trouble would cease but that they would come to know the Lord and be transformed by Him. Trust that God hears your prayers and will act according to His wisdom and love, and continue to walk in peace and gentleness as a testimony of His grace.

We hear how wearying this has been with your former landlord and those around him. When people act in wild and disrespectful ways it can leave you feeling on edge in your own home, and it makes sense you would long for God to bring His guidance and order into the situation.

We are joining you in praying that he would turn toward the Lord and be willing to be led by Him. We cannot make that choice for him, but we can keep asking God to work on his heart and to bring more peace to everyone involved.

While we pray for him, we also want to pray for you to have steadiness and wisdom in the middle of it. One practical step that often helps in ongoing tension like this is to keep things as calm and clear as possible on your side. That can mean limiting unnecessary contact, keeping a simple written note of what has happened and when, and talking through next decisions with one trusted, level-headed person like a pastor or wise friend who knows the local situation. It does not fix the other person's behavior, but it can help you stay grounded and make decisions with more peace.

Father, we bring this landlord and his circle before You and ask that You would draw them to Yourself and give them a desire to walk in Your ways. We ask for Your protection and peace over the one who wrote to us, for wisdom for each next step, and for Your joy to guard their heart even in this strain. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden and we take it before the throne of grace. You have well quoted the proverb, that where there is no vision, where divine guidance is refused, the people run wild, but he that keeps the law, happy is he. It is even so. When men cast off the restraint of the Lord they become as a house left in disorder, and trouble follows both to themselves and to those round about them.

Remember that the great God is the Landlord and we are but tenants in the house of this life. Every man holds his dwelling upon sufferance, and the lease contains this clause, that the Landlord may at any time enter and call us to account. It is therefore the wisdom and duty of every tenant to set his house in order and to pay his rent to the great Landlord, which is a heart yielded in obedience and faith. To refuse Him is to live in arrears and confusion, but to submit to Him is to find order and mercy.

There is no true peace to be had while a man remains at enmity with God. The peace that the world cries, peace, peace, where there is no peace, is a false calm which Satan would keep over the conscience. But there is a perfect peace which comes only through reconciliation by the blood of Jesus Christ. He is our peace. God has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, that men might be at peace with Him through His only begotten Son. Apart from Christ there is no solid peace, but he that has Christ has a peace that passes all understanding, a peace that may be kept even when sorrows surge round and duties press.

Let us pray together.

O Lord, our heavenly Landlord, in whose house we live and to whom we must give account, we come to Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, through whom alone salvation and peace are to be found. We ask that Thou wouldst work by Thy Holy Spirit upon this former landlord and upon those around him who have walked in wildness and disrespect. Take away the heart of rebellion and grant repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. Bring them to submit to Thy divine guidance, to keep Thy law and to know the joy and blessedness of obedience. Let the reconciling work which Thou hast already finished upon the cross be applied to them, that they may be at peace with Thee.

And for the one who has brought this request, grant perfect peace, the peace that comes of a mind stayed upon Thee because it trusts in Thee. Though trouble has been caused, keep him in quietness of spirit, and help him to do the will of Jesus and there to find rest. May he know that to be at peace with God is to be at peace with life and time and eternity, and may that peace be his continual portion through the blood of Christ. Hear us, O God of Peace, for the sake of Jesus, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord. You quoted Proverbs 29:18 rightly, that when people do not accept divine guidance they run wild, but whoever obeys the law is joyful. We understand the trouble and disrespect you have endured from your former landlord and those around him, and we hear your desire for God to bring order where there has been disturbance.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God, that your former landlord would submit himself to God and accept His divine guidance. We ask that the Lord would soften his heart, bring him to repentance, and turn him from wild and disrespectful ways to obedience and reverence for God. We pray also for those around him who have joined in causing trouble, that they too would be convicted of what is wrong and drawn to the truth of the gospel.

Scripture teaches that true peace is a great good and comes from God. Christ said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but reconciliation with God and the guarding of our hearts in Christ. We pray that the peace of God would rule in your heart even now, guarding you from bitterness and anger, and that you would be able to follow peace with all people as far as it depends on you, while still trusting God to correct what is wrong. Concord is not always good when it is agreement in doing evil, and sometimes God allows a necessary separation from what is harmful so that what is healthy may be preserved. We ask God to give you wisdom and discernment in this.

We also pray that you would be strengthened to forgive as you have been forgiven, to be trained in gentleness, and to leave judgment in the hands of the Lord who sees all. May the Lord protect you from further harm, provide for your needs, and establish you in the joyful obedience that comes from walking in His word.

We will continue to pray that God would work in your former landlord for his good and for His glory, that he would come to know Christ and walk in His ways, and that you would experience the quiet joy and stability that come from trusting and obeying the Lord.
