Proverbs 29:18


Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join with you in prayer in Jesus' name and we agree that divine guidance is desperately needed in this situation. You have rightly pointed to Proverbs 29:18, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. When people reject God's counsel and His Word, they indeed run wild, and disrespect and trouble are the fruit of that rebellion.

We hear your distress over the former landlord and those around him who have been wild and disrespectful and have caused much trouble. The Lord sees this and He calls us to respond not with retaliation but with prayer and trust in His justice and mercy. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And in Romans 12:18-19 we are reminded, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.

Our desire is that this man and those with him would come under the authority of God and submit to His guidance. James 4:7 says, Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Only when a heart is humbled before God can that wildness be tamed and replaced with joyful obedience. We also pray for you, that you will continue to trust in the Lord and not be overcome by this trouble, for Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We thank you for bringing this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this former landlord and the people around him to You. Lord, soften their hearts and bring them to repentance that they may submit to You and accept Your divine guidance. Take away the spirit of wildness, disrespect and strife, and replace it with a heart that loves Your law and seeks to obey You, that they may know the joy and blessing You promise to those who keep Your ways. We ask that You would restrain any further trouble and bring conviction where it is needed, and that Your peace would guard our brother or sister who has been affected by this. Help them to walk in love, to not repay evil for evil, and to trust Your perfect justice and timing. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We hear how wearying this has been for you, living with the fallout when someone chooses to live without regard for God or for others. It is painful when disrespect and trouble spill over onto you, especially from someone who held authority over your housing.

We are joining you in praying that your former landlord would turn toward the Lord and be willing to receive His guidance. We cannot change another person's heart, but we can entrust him to God who can soften and lead him, and who also sees the trouble that has been caused.

One thing that has helped others in a similar place is to make a clear separation between what you can entrust to God and what is yours to carry. You can continue to pray for his good, for wisdom and restraint for those around him, while also choosing not to rehearse every offense through the day. If there are still practical loose ends with this landlord, it can help to keep any needed communication brief, written, and calm, and to seek wise counsel from a pastor or trusted mediator if issues continue.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You and ask that You would draw him to Yourself and guide his steps. Bring peace where there has been wild and disrespectful behavior, and protect and quiet the heart of the one praying. Give wisdom for any next interaction and help them to rest in Your care and to walk in joy as they follow You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thou hast seen this truth made plain in thy trouble with thy former landlord and those round about him, where wildness and disrespect have brought sorrow.

Let us remember what Scripture teaches concerning landlordship itself . The house in which we dwell in this life has God Himself toward its Landlord, and we are only tenants at His will. The ox knows his owner, but too oft men live like tenants which forget that their Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to leave His own property, and that we live on sufferance as His tenants. It were fit then we should offer the keys out our house to this Great Landlord and acknowledge His claim upon us.

We will join thee in prayer unto our God by Jesus Christ, by whom alone there are peace with God. There is no other name whereby we can approach Him nor any other foundation for peace which was laid of old. Peace with God is made by His precious Blood upon this treaty peace with conscience follows like this crystal stream which issues from the fountain. The peace which multitudes fancy within themselves is but peace with their own conscience and not peace with God at all.

Oh Heaven toward this holy Landlord toward all things Thyself, we entreate The toward this land wherein Thyself dwellest toward this former landlord whom Thyself hast made. Subdue his heart by Thy sovereign Grace toward Thyself. Grant him divine guidance, open his eyes toward consider his ways, toward return unto The toward submission toward Thy will. Take away this spirit toward wildness and strives toward give him a mind which are toward upon The toward because he trusts within The toward that Thyself mayest keep him within perfect peace. We ask not from temporal blessing apart from repentance, but that Thyself would bring him toward repentance toward faith within Thy Son Jesus Christ, toward that being reconciled toward The through Him he may walke within obedience toward find this joy which belongs toward them which keep Thy law.

Toward The which art this God toward peace we commit this matter toward this man toward those about him. Work within each toward Thy glory toward let this troubled sea become still at Thy word toward this strivers cease.

May this Lord bless His persons with peace, this peace which Jesus purchased with His Blood and which this Holye Spirit worketh within this soul toward may it flow like this river from this very Throne toward God toward those which believe.

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.

The proverb you quoted is true and speaks to what you have experienced. When people refuse the guidance of God they indeed run wild, and you have seen the trouble and disrespect that follows. But the same word promises that whoever obeys the law of God finds joy, and that joy is what we ask God to bring into this situation.

We pray that God in His mercy would work in the heart of your former landlord and in those around him. We ask that the Lord would soften what is hard, calm what is wild, and lead him to submit himself to God and to receive divine guidance. We pray that God would turn him from ways that cause harm and bring him to repentance and to the knowledge of truth through Jesus Christ, so that he may walk in obedience and know the peace that comes from it.

We also pray for you, that you would not be overcome with trouble while you wait upon the Lord. God in His love often weaves our lives from both hardship and refreshment, and He does not leave His people without comfort. May He guard your heart, give you patience, and keep you joyful in obedience to Him even while this difficulty continues. May He bring order where there has been confusion and protect you from further harm.
