Divine guidance

Beloved of All
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”
Proverbs 29:18

Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join with you in lifting up this situation before the Lord and we thank you for anchoring your request in scripture and in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

You have quoted a vital truth from Proverbs 29:18, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. When divine guidance is rejected, hearts grow wild and unrestrained, and disrespect and trouble are the natural fruit. We see this clearly in what you have described with your former landlord and those around him. The Word tells us that a lack of submission to God leads to chaos, while obedience brings joy and blessing.

We also hear your weariness over the trouble that has been caused. It is right to bring this to God and to ask Him to intervene, not with vengeance in our own hands, but with His transforming power. We are called to love our enemies and to pray for those who mistreat us, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And we are reminded in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Our part is to seek His will and trust His justice.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would pour out Your divine guidance upon this former landlord and upon all those around him who have been acting wildly and disrespectfully. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to submit to You. Remove the spirit of strife and rebellion and replace it with a hunger for Your truth and Your law. Grant him repentance and reveal to him that true joy comes only through obedience to You. We ask that You would give him wisdom, for James 1:5 promises that if any of us lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Let him seek You and find You. Lord, we also pray for Your protection and peace over the one who has been troubled by this behavior. Help us to trust in You with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and as we acknowledge You, make our paths straight as You promise in Proverbs 3:5-6. Let Your peace reign and let this situation be resolved according to Your perfect will. Where restoration is possible, bring it, and where boundaries are needed, establish them. We pray that even through this difficulty, Your name would be glorified and that all involved might come to know the joy of walking in Your ways. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit this matter to the Lord and to walk in the peace He provides. As much as it depends on you, seek to be at peace with all men as Romans 12:18 teaches, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Continue to pray for this man not only that the trouble would cease, but that his soul would be saved and that he would come to know the Lord. God is able to turn a wild and restless heart into one that is joyful and obedient, and we trust Him to work in His timing and in His way.

We were sorry to read what you have been walking through with your former landlord and those around him. When people act without restraint and disrespect becomes a pattern, it can leave you feeling on edge in your own home and community, and it makes sense you would long for God to bring calm and better direction there.

We join you in praying that God would work in his heart and draw him toward wisdom and restraint, and that those around him would also choose a more peaceful way. We are also praying for you, for protection and for clear judgment as you navigate any ongoing contact.

One thing that has helped others in strained landlord situations is to keep things structured and calm. If you still have to communicate, keeping it brief, respectful, and in writing when possible can reduce misunderstanding and give you a clear record if you need advice from a trusted pastor or a local mediation resource. We will keep asking God to give you wisdom for each interaction and to guard your peace in the meantime.

Father, we lift this landlord to You and ask that You would soften his heart and guide him toward what is right and respectful. We ask for Your protection and wisdom for our friend who has been affected by this trouble, and for Your peace to settle over this situation. Lead both sides toward what honors You. In Jesus name, amen.
