We join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord.
You have quoted a true and needed word, Proverbs 29:18 says, Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. When people reject divine guidance they do run wild, as you have seen, and it brings trouble not only to themselves but to those around them. Disrespect, strife, and causing trouble for others is not of God, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Corinthians 14:33, and He calls us to live in a way that honors Him and respects others.
We also hear your heart to not respond with anger or retaliation but to seek prayer for this former landlord and those with him. That is the right spirit. Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us, Matthew 5:44, and we are reminded in Romans 12:18-19, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We do not need to take matters into our own hands, for the Lord sees all and will deal justly.
We pray together for this man and for those around him who have acted wildly and disrespectfully. We pray that the Lord would soften his heart and draw him to repentance, that he would submit himself to God and accept divine guidance. We pray that he would come to the knowledge of the truth, for God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and the Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. We pray that he would turn from causing trouble and learn to walk in obedience to God's law, which brings joy and blessing, and that he would seek wisdom from above which is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, James 3:17.
We also pray for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness and give you peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7. We pray that you would continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and not lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths, Proverbs 3:5-6. May the Lord protect you from further trouble, provide justice as He sees fit, and let you rest in the joy of obeying Him even when others cast off restraint.
We thank you for asking in Jesus' name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We are grateful we can come together before the throne of grace through Him.
Father, we lift up this former landlord and his companions to You in the name of Jesus. Draw them by Your Spirit, convict them of their wild and disrespectful ways, and lead them to submit to Your divine guidance. Replace their restlessness with Your peace and their disrespect with a heart that honors You and others. And keep our dear one who prayed in Your perfect peace, protect them from harm, and let Your justice and mercy prevail. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
