We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up Janet in this time of physical trial. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who knits our bodies together in our mothers’ wombs and numbers every hair on our heads. Your Word declares in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." Lord, we stand on this truth today—Janet is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we ask that You intervene in her health with Your healing touch.
Heavenly Father, we pray specifically for the diverticulitis that Janet is facing. We ask that You would bring healing to her digestive system, that inflammation would subside, and that infection would be thwarted. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over Janet’s life, trusting that You are able to restore what has been weakened or damaged.
We also lift up her stage 4 chronic kidney disease, Lord. The kidneys are vital organs, and we ask that You would strengthen them, slow any progression, and grant wisdom to her medical team as they care for her. In Psalm 71:20, You promise, "You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, you will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth." We hold fast to this assurance, believing that You can bring renewal even in the midst of deep physical struggle.
Father, we also bring before You the concern of thrombocytosis. We ask that You would regulate Janet’s blood counts, protect her from complications, and guard her body from clot formation or other risks. Your Word reminds us in Exodus 15:26, "I am Yahweh who heals you," and we stand on that name—Yahweh Rapha—the Lord who heals.
Lord, we also ask that You would grant Janet peace that surpasses all understanding as she walks through this valley. In Philippians 4:6-7, You tell us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that this peace would envelop Janet, calming her fears and filling her with hope.
We also want to gently remind Janet—and all who read this—that our ultimate healing, whether in this life or the next, comes through faith in Jesus Christ. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). If Janet has not placed her trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that she would do so today. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement that may try to take root in Janet’s heart. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). We speak life over her body, mind, and spirit, and we trust that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Amen.
