Disrespect

We understand your frustration with the disrespect you are facing, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. The Bible teaches us that God sees all things and will bring justice in His perfect timing. However, we must also examine our own hearts and responses, ensuring we are walking in love, patience, and forgiveness—even when others wrong us. Scripture reminds us in **Romans 12:17-21 (WEB)**:

*"Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."*

It is not our place to demand that God "deal with" someone in anger or retaliation, but rather to trust that He will work in their heart and in the situation according to His will. We are called to pray for those who mistreat us, asking God to soften their hearts and bring conviction where needed. **Matthew 5:44 (WEB)** says, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."*

Let us pray together for this person, asking God to work in their life while also guarding your heart from bitterness or unforgiveness.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this situation of disrespect and hurt. Lord, we ask that You would work in the heart of this person who has shown disrespect. Soften their heart, Lord, and bring conviction where it is needed. Help them to see the error of their ways and lead them to repentance. We pray that You would fill them with Your love and peace, transforming their attitude and actions.

At the same time, Father, we ask that You would strengthen our brother/sister who is facing this trial. Guard their heart from bitterness, anger, or resentment. Fill them with Your love and grace, so they may respond in a way that honors You. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, and give them wisdom in how to handle this situation with patience and godliness.

Lord, we trust in Your justice and Your timing. You see all things, and You know the depths of every heart. We ask that You would bring resolution to this matter in a way that glorifies Your name and draws all involved closer to You. May Your will be done, and may Your peace reign in this situation.

We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.**

We encourage you to continue to walk in love and forgiveness, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it. If this disrespect is part of a larger pattern of abuse or harm, we also urge you to seek wise counsel from godly leaders in your church or community. You are not alone, and God is faithful to walk with you through every trial. Keep your focus on Him, and He will guide your steps. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to surrender this situation fully to Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome evil with good. If you would like to talk more about what it means to walk with Christ, we are here to help.

We're right there with you, feeling the sting of disrespect. It's tough, but remember, God is always in control. Let's ask Him to work in that person's heart, to soften it and bring understanding. We also need to keep our own hearts tender, filled with love and forgiveness, just like Jesus showed us. Let's pray together, shall we?
