Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

The Importunate Widow
Persistent prayer moves God’s heart, so keep asking and never give up.
Thirty Minutes in Heaven
Silence in heaven honors patience and calls us to trust God in our struggles without rushing to defend ourselves.
We join with you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach Him and be saved. We rejoice that you have acknowledged Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life as He said in John 14:6, and that you recognize the power of His blood shed on the Cross for us sinners. We also thank you for your heart of grace in praying for those who have caused you hardship.

You are right to call lies serious, for Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter before God. Proverbs 12:22 tells us lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. And Revelation 21:8 warns that all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. When a person or a group chooses to lie and to commit other wrongdoing, they must indeed harden their conscience and break down the natural resistance God placed in them against dishonesty. We must rebuke lying plainly because God commands us in Exodus 20:16 that you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor, and in Colossians 3:9 to not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his doings, and in Ephesians 4:25 to put away falsehood and speak truth each one with his neighbor.

We praise God that you have chosen to respond not with vengeance or hatred but with the same patience and kindness that was shown to you. That is the heart of Christ. Romans 12:19 reminds us not to avenge ourselves but to give place to God's wrath, for vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay. At the same time we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us, which you are doing so faithfully for this former landlord's team, their lawyers and legal representative.

We agree with you that truth will set us free, as Jesus promised in John 8:32 you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. Dishonesty may seem to gain an advantage for a time, but Proverbs 19:5 says a false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who pours out lies shall not go free. It is far better for these souls to be convicted and to turn to honesty now than to suffer the consequences of persistent lying before God and before the law.

We pray together for them and for you.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You for Your presence in our lives, for fighting for us, and for blessing us with heavenly gifts. Thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. Lord, You see the dishonesty that has been committed and the hardships it has caused. We ask that You would build up in the hearts of this former landlord's team, their lawyers and legal representatives, a strong resistance to dishonesty. Remove the hardness from their hearts, open their eyes to see that Jesus is the truth, and convict them to practice honesty in all they say and do. Help them to put away falsehood and to speak truth, that they might be set free and not suffer the just consequences of lying. Give us continued grace to walk in patience, kindness, and forgiveness while still standing firmly for truth and justice, surrendering our will and our lives fully to You. Let Your truth prevail in this situation and let Your name be glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in truth and to trust the Lord to be your defender. Keep surrendering your will to Him daily, for He is faithful to bring what is hidden into the light and to honor those who honor Him.

We were grateful to read your prayer. Being on the receiving end of dishonesty, especially when it involves a former landlord, lawyers and legal processes, is exhausting and it can feel like the ground keeps shifting under you. We noticed how you still chose gratitude and asked God to work in their lives, not just your own. That is a gracious posture and it does not come easily when you have faced hardships because of lies.

What you described, wanting them to grow in honesty and to be set free by truth, fits with what you also named about showing patience and kindness. Choosing to release the right to get even and to treat the other person as still valuable in God's eyes is one kind of decision, and the slower untangling of resentment, bitterness and fear in the heart is another. Both matter, and the second often takes much longer and comes in waves, especially when legal matters drag on. Forgiveness in that sense does not mean pretending nothing happened or rushing to trust again.

It may help to keep bringing the gap to God plainly, the difference between how you wish this had been handled and how it actually has been, and asking Him to carry that weight with you as you continue to walk honestly yourselves.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You. We thank You for the grace You have already given these friends to respond with patience. We ask You to guard their hearts from bitterness, to strengthen their own commitment to truth, and to work in the hearts of the landlord's team and representatives that they would love honesty. Lead all involved toward what is true and right, and give peace as they surrender this to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, giving thanks with you for the presence of our Lord and for the precious blood shed upon the Cross for sinners.

You have prayed well, for you have come in the name of Jesus who is Himself the way, the truth and the life. He did not merely speak the truth, He is the Truth, transparent from head to foot, truth in word and truth in deed, and His kingdom is over all those whose hearts love righteousness. To know Him is to love truth, for your Word is truth and His very name is the Lord God abundant in goodness and truth.

You rightly feel the weight of dishonesty, for the Lord hates lying lips and He will not deny His great Self. A God all truth can never lie. As well might His being quit as break His oath or word forget. Therefore we commend your petition that those who have opposed you, the former landlord and his team with lawyers and representatives, may be brought to honest dealing. You ask not for vengeance but for their good, that resistance to dishonesty may be built up in them and that they may practice honesty. This is to overcome evil with good, which is the art saints must learn.

We pray with you that the Lord will open their eyes, for the truth shall make them free. May the Spirit of God bring them to that honest dealing with God where a man owns his sin and confesses the truth about himself, and then finds that on the ground of truth, sad truth though it be, the Lord will meet with him through the atoning blood. May they learn to buy the truth and sell it not, to have truth in doctrine, truth in the heart, and truth in the life, at any price, for a man needs the truth and will never be received by God at last unless he brings truth in his right hand.

We also thank God for the grace He has already given you to show patience and kindness under hardship. Continue therein, beloved in Christ, remembering that this war between right and wrong must be continued and truth will have the victory. Take your stand by the banner of truth, and strengthen your faith by remembering that the Lord reigns and that His truth endures to all generations. Sooner shall heaven and earth pass away than one promise of our God shall fall to the ground. Cast your burden upon Him who fights for you and blesses you with heavenly gifts.

We will pray that the Lord will vindicate what is right according to His perfect will, that He will guard you from all fear of man, that He will keep you in submission to His will and in unbounded confidence in His faithfulness, and that He will work in the hearts of those who have dealt falsely, granting them repentance and a love for that honesty which reflects His own character.

May the Lord hear your cry, establish you in His truth, and cause you to rejoice in Him who is your familiar Friend and ever living Advocate.

In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour we ask it, Amen.
