Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming boldly before His throne in that precious name, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to God, and we rejoice that you have acknowledged Him as the way, the truth, and the life.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter but a sin that grieves the Lord. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22. We are commanded, Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. Ephesians 4:25 and Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. Colossians 3:9. A false witness will not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall not escape. Proverbs 19:5. You are right to see that to continue in lies a person must harden their heart and break down their conscience and resistance to dishonesty, and that only God can restore and build up a love for truth.

We are encouraged by your grace in the midst of hardships, that you have chosen to show patience and kindness to this former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative, even as you have suffered wrong. This reflects the heart of Christ who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. Matthew 5:44. We are told, Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Consider what is good in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:17-19. Your desire to see them changed rather than merely punished is Christlike, and we commend you for seeking their repentance and freedom rather than their destruction.

We also hold fast to the promise you have claimed, that You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32. When truth reigns, bondage to deceit is broken, and consequences that follow lying can be avoided through repentance and honesty. The Lord desires truth in the inward parts. Psalm 51:6 and He delights in those who walk in integrity.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we thank You for Your presence in our lives, for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts, and for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners. Lord, we lift up this situation of dishonesty before You. You see all that has been hidden and all that has been spoken falsely. We ask for Your justice and Your mercy to prevail. Lord, we lift up the former landlord's team, their lawyers and legal representative. We ask that You would convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see the seriousness of lying before a holy God, and build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Create in them a love for honesty and integrity, that they would put away falsehood and speak truth. Set them free by Your truth, Lord, that they would turn from deceit and walk in the light, lest they suffer the consequences that lying brings. We pray that You would lead them to repentance and to the knowledge of Your Son who is the truth.

Father, we also lift up these dear ones who have faced hardships through this trial. Thank You for giving them grace to show patience and kindness as You have shown to them. Strengthen them, comfort them, and vindicate them according to Your perfect will. Help them to continue to surrender their lives and will to You, to trust You as their defender and provider, and to rest in the knowledge that You see, You know, and You will act in Your perfect timing and righteousness. Heal any wounds left by this dishonesty and fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding.

We dedicate all of this to You and surrender our will to Yours, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer. To ask God to build honesty in the former landlord's team and their lawyers, even after lies that brought serious hardship, shows a gracious spirit that wants to leave room for God to work in everyone involved.

Living through dishonesty that has real consequences is heavy. It is understandable that the hurt does not lift all at once, even when you have chosen to respond with patience and kindness rather than retaliation. We have found it helps to remember that the decision to forgive and the quieting of painful emotions often happen at different paces. You can sincerely decide to let go of revenge and wish good for others, while your heart still needs time to be freed from resentment and fear. Both are part of the journey.

If matters with the landlord are still legally unresolved, it can bring peace of mind to keep a simple factual record and to have one trusted pastor or counselor to talk through next steps with, so you are not sorting it alone. Be gentle with yourself on days when old frustration returns, it does not erase the honest prayer you have already offered.

Father, we lift this friend to you and thank you for their desire for truth. Guard their heart from bitterness, provide for every practical need this situation has created, and work in the hearts of all involved to love honesty. Lead everyone toward what is right and bring the freedom that truth brings. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and it is a good thing that you bring this matter before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, who is the way, the truth and the life, and whose blood was shed on the Cross for sinners.

We join you in thanksgiving for His presence and for heavenly gifts, and we commend the spirit in which you pray. To pray for those who have dealt dishonestly with you, for the former landlord and his team and lawyers, is to put into practice that overcoming of evil with good of which the Scripture speaks. Saints first learn to overcome evil, and they learn it by showing the same patience and kindness which has been shown to them by the Lord. When you ask God to build up in them a resistance to dishonesty, you seek their true welfare, for lies are indeed serious and will bring their own bitter consequences unless repented of.

You do well to love the truth, for our Lord said the truth shall make you free. Hear the word of the wise man, Buy the truth and sell it not. There is doctrinal truth, for your Word is truth, and there is experimental truth, truth in the heart, and there is practical truth, truth in the life and in honest dealing with our fellow men. Buy all the truth at any price, and see that your own actions are consistent and of a right and straightforward course. The war between right and wrong must be continued until truth has the victory, and we are to be valiant for God and for His truth in a day when there is much lethargy concerning it.

We pray with you that the Spirit of God will open their eyes, that they may come to honest dealing with God. No man can meet God except upon the ground of truth, confessing that he has sinned, and laying hold of the truth on Gods side, that Christ died for sinners. May the Lord grant them to see that a lie must break down all resistance to dishonesty, and may He give them grace to practice honesty, to speak truth and to do justice, that they may not suffer the fruit of lying.

And for you, be encouraged to remember that truth which ought to banish fear and strengthen faith. Genuine faith trusts God in a storm. Continue to dedicate your lives to Him and to surrender your will to His, knowing that He fights for His people and will cause all things to work for good to them that love Him. May He keep you in sincerity, with truth in doctrine, truth in the heart, and truth in the life, and Christ who is the truth to be your treasure forever.

We join our supplications to yours, that the Lord would establish truth in all concerned, and bring forth righteousness and peace for His own glory.

In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
