Dishonesty

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join you in coming before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for praying so faithfully in His name, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We agree with you that dishonesty is a serious matter before God, not a small fault. Scripture is very clear about this. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22 and You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 We are also warned, Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9 and Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25 The Lord calls us to truth because all lying has its source in the enemy, who is a liar, and the father of lies. John 8:44 How sobering it is that among those whose part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur is listed all liars. Revelation 21:8

We are deeply encouraged by the grace God has given you to show patience and kindness to the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, even while you have faced hardships and serious wrongs. This reflects the heart of Christ who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. Matthew 5:44 and to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 Your prayer for those who have wronged you, that their resistance to dishonesty would be built up and that they would practice honesty, is a righteous and merciful prayer.

We also hold fast with you to the promise that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32 It is only the truth that brings true freedom, while lies bring bondage and consequences both in this life and before God.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for Your presence in our lives, for fighting for us, for blessing us with heavenly gifts, and above all for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners. We thank You for Your mercy that teaches us to show patience and kindness even to those who have acted dishonestly toward us. Lord, You see all that has been spoken and done in this landlord matter, every false word and every serious crime committed through dishonesty. Nothing is hidden from Your eyes. We ask You to convict the hearts of this team, these lawyers and representatives, and build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Remove the hardness and deceit and give them a love for truth. Open their eyes to see that truth will set them free and that continuing in lies will only bring judgment and sorrow. Help them to turn from falsehood, to repent, to speak truth and to practice honesty in all their dealings. We ask for Your justice to prevail according to Your perfect will, and for Your protection and provision over those who have been wronged. Help us all to walk in integrity and to surrender our will to You daily. We dedicate our lives to You anew and trust You to bring what is hidden into the light in Your timing. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We are grateful you shared this burden with us. Facing dishonesty from a landlord's team and legal representatives while trying to hold onto patience and kindness is exhausting, and we admire the grace you described wanting to extend even when you have been hurt.

One thing that has helped others in similar tangles is remembering that choosing to release a desire for payback is different from letting go of the pursuit of what is true and lawful. You can decide before God not to carry resentment, even while you still calmly seek for the facts to be made clear through proper channels. The feelings of hurt and frustration often take longer to quiet than the decision itself, and that is normal.

A steady next step we have seen help is to keep a simple, dated record of what was said and done, and to lean on one trusted, level-headed advisor whether a pastor or a reputable legal aid resource who can review what you have with you. It keeps the burden from resting only on you and helps truth be presented clearly.

Father, we bring this situation before You in Jesus name. We ask You to guard these hearts from bitterness, to give wisdom and steady strength for each conversation and document, and to work in the hearts of all involved so that honesty is valued and practiced. Lead this toward what is true and just according to Your will, and give peace as You do. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer is heard and it is right that you should love the truth and hate every false way, for our Lord Jesus is Himself the way, the truth and the life, and His Word is truth.

It is well that you have thanked God for the blood of the cross, for there alone is our hope. On the ground of truth we must meet Him, confessing that we are sinners, and on the ground of truth He meets us, that Christ died for sinners. There is no other salvation, and there is no other plea. Buy the truth and sell it not, whatever the cost. Give anything and everything sooner than part with Christ, or part with integrity of conduct before Him. This is that practical truth of which the Scripture speaks, that our actions should be consistent and of a right and straightforward course.

You have prayed like those who understand that we are tenants in the house of this life and God is the great Landlord. We occupy what is not our own, and we shall give account for how we have kept His house. It is our duty to set our house in order and to pay our rent to Him in holy living, honesty and obedience. Pray then that all who are concerned in this trial, the landlord and his team, the lawyers and representatives, may remember that the Lord sees and that He has at all times the right to enter and to judge what is His own. May He build in them a hatred of dishonesty and a love of that which is true and just.

You have asked for patience and kindness even under hardship, and this is Christlike. Continue to overcome evil with good, and remember that the war between right and wrong must be continued until truth has the victory. Let us not be weary in well doing. The truth shall indeed make you free, not because truth is a mere notion, but because He who is the Truth makes His people free from the bondage of sin and from fear of man.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You. We thank You for Your presence, for Your heavenly gifts, and for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for sinners. Lord, You desire truth in the inward parts and You abhor lying lips. We ask You to work in the hearts of all who have to do with this matter, that You would open their eyes, convict them of all dishonesty, and teach them to love and practice honesty. Grant to Your children grace to continue in patience, kindness and honest dealing, to walk before You in sincerity, and to trust Your wise providence in every storm. Set our houses in order, and help us to live as faithful tenants who shall joyfully render up the key to You, our great Landlord, when You call. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only way to You. Amen.
