Dishonesty

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for as you have rightly said, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is only through Him that we have access to God and it is His blood shed on the cross that covers us sinners and gives us grace to extend patience and kindness even when we have faced hardships and wrongdoing.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22. And Scripture warns us, Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, Colossians 3:9, and Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25.

We commend you for choosing to respond not with vengeance or bitterness but with the same patience and kindness that was shown to you. That is the heart of Christ in you and it honors God. We also hear your discernment that to continue in dishonesty a person must break down their own conscience and resistance to sin, and your prayer that God would build that resistance back up is wise and loving. We stand with you in praying for the landlord's team, the lawyers and the legal representatives, that God would convict them, open their eyes, and lead them to repentance and honesty.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence in our lives and for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts. We thank You for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us. Lord, You see the situation with this landlord and all those representing him. You know every word spoken and every document presented, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You would bring all that is hidden into the light, for You desire truth in the inward parts. Father, build up in these people a holy resistance to dishonesty. Soften their hearts where they have hardened them, convict them by Your Holy Spirit, and help them to practice honesty even when it is costly. We pray that they would know that You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32, and that truth indeed sets free while lies bring bondage and consequences. Grant them repentance that leads to life, and protect all involved from the harm that deceit causes.

Lord, we also lift up these dear ones who have endured hardships in this matter. Strengthen them to continue to walk in integrity and to trust You as their defender and judge. Help them to not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good, and to leave room for Your justice while they remain faithful in truth. We dedicate and surrender all of this into Your hands, asking that Your will be done and that Your name be glorified through a just and truthful outcome.

We thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus and we rest in Your perfect wisdom and mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for bringing this before the Lord so honestly. We can hear both the weight of what you have walked through with the landlord's team and legal representatives, and the grace you are asking God to show them.

Choosing to pray for their honesty rather than holding onto bitterness is not easy. It reflects a real decision to want good for them, that they would turn toward truth and be spared the harm that comes from living by lies. That kind of steady kindness, especially after hardship, is a work of God in you and we thank Him for it.

As you continue, one simple way to stay grounded is to keep bringing that same prayer before God in your own daily time with Him, naming the desire for truth to prevail, and continuing to walk in honesty yourselves in every conversation and paper you handle. If there are still legal steps ahead, having a trusted pastor or wise counselor to talk and pray through decisions with can bring clarity and peace.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You. You see every detail and every person involved. We ask You to work in the hearts of the landlord's team and their representatives, building in them a love for truth and a resistance to dishonesty. Guard our friends here, give them wisdom, patience and peace as they trust You with the outcome. We surrender this to You in Jesus' name, Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in thanking our heavenly Father that Jesus is indeed the way, the truth and the life, and that through His shed blood on the cross sinners such as we are may find forgiveness and grace.

Your desire to see truth prevail is right and good before the Lord, for our God is a God of truth and He has called His people to be the pillar and ground of the truth in a world that so often loves falsehood. To lie is indeed a serious sin before Him, and as you have prayed, those who give themselves to dishonesty must break down every resistance of conscience to do so. We pray with you that the Lord in His mercy would build up in the hearts of the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, a renewed resistance to dishonesty and a love for honesty. May the Lord open their eyes to know that the truth shall set men free, while lies bring bondage and sorrowful consequence.

We also thank God for the grace He has already given you to show patience and kindness under hardship. This patience is part of the discipline of Christ, and it is learned as we feed upon the Scriptures in meditation and prayer. Our Lord Himself is the model of patient perseverance, and the God of patience and comfort is able to fill you with joy and peace in believing as you wait upon Him. He is slow to anger and great in power, and He will not at all acquit the wicked, yet His slowness to anger is the space in which He calls sinners to repentance through the justice which was vindicated at the cross, where Christ bore the penalty that we might receive His perfect righteousness.

Therefore we continue to pray that the Lord will fight for you, that He will guard your own heart from bitterness, that He will cause truth to be honored in every proceeding, and that He will keep you abiding in Christ, surrendered to His will. May you be kept in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit, looking to Jesus who is our truth and our life.

Heavenly Father, we ask that Thou wouldst work honesty in all who are concerned in this matter, that Thou wouldst restrain falsehood and establish truth, and that Thou wouldst cause Thy name to be honored as Thy people walk in integrity and patience before Thee. We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord. You have asked rightly, for dishonesty is no small matter. It corrupts the soul and, as Scripture teaches, those who live by falsehood and perjury bring great woe upon themselves both now and in the judgment to come, and lose the blessings of the kingdom.

You have also prayed with a gracious spirit, asking not for harm to those who have wronged you, but for their good, that they would turn from lying to honesty. This is pleasing to God. We pray with you that the Lord, who is Himself the way, the truth and the life, would work in the hearts of the landlord's team, the lawyers and all involved. May He build up in them a firm resistance to dishonesty and a love for truth. As truth when it finds an honest soul easily masters it and enlightens it like the sun enlightens clear eyes, so we ask that He would make their hearts candid and open to receive the truth, and that He would open their eyes to see that truth alone sets us free.

We thank God with you for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the blood of Jesus shed on the Cross for sinners. We ask that He would continue to give you grace to show patience and kindness even in hardship, to live in all godliness and honesty, and to surrender your will to Him daily. May He guard your own heart from bitterness, keep you in righteousness and holiness of truth, and let your life bear witness to the gospel.
