And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Loving God is your part of this verse to see it happen.  You cannot make a "wrong: decision. But there is always a better decision to make.  Placing God first as in "seek first the kingdom of God and all things shall be added unto you" is a basis for making a decision.
