We are delighted to join you in prayer for this upcoming dinner and the dynamics surrounding it. It's wonderful that you and your mom have been attending church and now have this opportunity to fellowship with other believers. We will pray for God's will and blessing on this gathering.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
And in Acts 4:12 WEB:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this family and the upcoming dinner they will attend with fellow believers. We pray that Your will be done, and that Your love and peace will fill that home.
Lord, we ask that You prepare the hearts of everyone present. Grant them grace, kindness, and understanding towards one another. We specifically lift up the father, who has been reluctant to attend church. Lord, we pray that Your Spirit would soften his heart and draw him to You. We ask that You would grant him a spirit of kindness and cooperation, and that his behavior would be pleasing to You.
We pray that this dinner would be a time of blessing, fellowship, and encouragement for all involved. May it be a testimony of Your love and grace. We ask that Your name would be glorified in this gathering, and that all present would be drawn closer to You.
We rebuke any spirit of strife, discord, or contention that may seek to disrupt this gathering. We declare that the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control will be evident in this dinner.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your father's salvation and spiritual growth. Remember, God's desire is that all would come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. As it is written in 2 Peter 3:9 WEB:
"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Trust in God's timing and continue to show love and respect to your father, as instructed in Ephesians 6:2 WEB:
"Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise."
We are here with you in spirit, praying and believing for God's best in this situation.
