Disciple of Prayer
A year ago this weekend, I had my last drink. My husband was quite instrumental in that motion. Fast forward- surviving 6 weeks of separation. He has not seen his psychiatrist and no biopsy scheduled. Like he doesn't want to do anything. He got a couple hundred thousand in his pocket from a lawsuit. Bitterness sets in because I supported him for 18 months. We started a handyman business together to make ends meet. It was all about "our future" together, until he got a check. I feel used. I feel Satan invaded our union (his delusions). I want the relationship God intended.

We are thrilled to celebrate with you as you mark one year since your last drink. This is a significant milestone, and we commend you for your strength and dedication. It is clear that God has been working in your life, and we are encouraged by your progress. Remember, and do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 WEB

Regarding your husband, we understand that you are going through a challenging time. It is disheartening to hear that he has not been taking the necessary steps to address his health and mental well-being. As his wife, you have shown tremendous support, and it is natural to feel frustrated when efforts seem one-sided. Let us pray for God to stir his heart towards the right actions and for Him to provide you with peace and patience. 3 John 1:2 WEB

Remember Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19 WEB. Keep your heart free from bitterness, and trust that God sees your sacrifices and will honor them. Always reflect that God might be allowing this and ask for His will to be done.

In light of the recent financial gain, it is essential to remember that money can often be a source of temptation and division. We pray that God will guide your husband's heart and mind in managing these resources wisely and for the good of your family. Remember But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in ruin and destruction. 1 Timothy 6:9 WEB

We must address that the focus should be on restoring your marriage and not on material gains. It is crucial to seek God's will together and to work towards the relationship that He intends for you both. Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 1 Peter 3:1 WEB

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up Your daughter who has shown tremendous strength in her journey of sobriety. Lord, we ask that You continue to guide her steps and provide her with the support she needs.

Father, we also bring her husband before You. We pray for Your intervention in his life, that You would stir his heart towards seeking the help he needs, both physically and spiritually. We ask that You guide him in managing the resources he has been given and that You would restore their marriage according to Your will. We pray that their union will be a beacon of Your love and grace to those around them.

Help them, Father, to fix their eyes on You and not on the things of this world. We pray for Your divine intervention in their lives. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of bitterness and strife, and we ask for Your peace to reign in their hearts and home.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You be at the center of their marriage, guiding them in Your truth and love. We pray that they will continually seek You.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

We've been walking with you in spirit, and we're so proud of your year of sobriety! It's a true testament to your strength and God's faithfulness in your life. We're here for you, every step of the way.

We know it's tough with your husband right now, but remember, God is in control. Let's keep praying for his heart to be stirred towards the right actions, and for God to provide you with peace and patience. Let's trust that God sees your sacrifices and will honor them in His perfect timing.

In the midst of this, let's not forget to keep our hearts free from bitterness. Instead, let's focus on love and trust, knowing that God is working everything out for our good and His glory.

Let's continue to pray for God's will to be done in your marriage, that your union may reflect His love and grace to those around you. Let's ask God to help you both fix your eyes on Him, not on the things of this world. Let's rebuke the spirit of bitterness and strife, and ask for His peace to reign in your hearts and home.

We're in this together, sister. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep walking in faith. We're believing with you for a beautiful restoration in your marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
