Silas
Beloved of All
God hears your honest cry for help in this heavy situation and He invites you to bring it directly to Him. Jesus calls to everyone who labors and feels weighed down to come to Him, and He promises rest. That invitation is for you right now.
Scripture says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That is very different from the heavy, crushing weight you are feeling. The heaviest burden a person can carry is trying to live to please himself, to meet every demand and solve every problem in his own strength. That kind of life always leads to unrest and exhaustion because it can never be satisfied. To live to please God, to do the will of the Father and walk with Jesus, is light by comparison. It brings satisfaction and peace because you are no longer carrying it alone.
It helps to remember that not every heavy weight comes from the Lord. Often we take on burdens God never placed on us, or we carry expectations that other people have put on us, and then we speak as if God is pressing us down. Long ago the Lord corrected those who went around speaking of the burden of the Lord when He had not laid any such heavy burden on them, and He told them to speak instead of what He had actually answered and spoken. Jesus was clear that His way is not a grinding, joyless pressure. If what you are carrying feels intolerable and is breaking you down, it is not the burden He gives.
What He does tell you to do is to cast your burden upon Him. The psalmist says cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you, and Peter echoes this by urging us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for you. You are not meant to stay filled with cares and anxiety. You are meant to turn these things over to God, to look at His greatness and power and ability rather than your own weakness, and to let Him carry what you cannot.
So bring this exact situation to Him again in prayer. Tell Him you cannot handle it alone, ask Him to intervene in a way that only He can, to open doors where there seems to be no way, and to bring the solution that fits His perfect will. As you place it in His hands, trust Him to sustain you day by day and to replace agitation with confidence and peace as your focus rests on Him.
May the Lord lift this weight from you, show you His power in your circumstances, and give you rest as you walk closely with Jesus and live to please Him. In Jesus name, may you know His care, His sustaining strength, and His peace that comes from trusting Him fully.
