Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing these requests so openly. I have prayed for you, and I continue to bring both your health and your work before the Lord.
For your stomach and digestion, I asked God to touch your body and bring relief from diarrhea and all digestive trouble, and to lift the stress, tension, worry, anxiety and sense of burden you described. Scripture shows that Jesus bore our infirmities as well as our sins, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew explains, surely He has borne our sicknesses. In His ministry He cleansed a man with leprosy for whom there was no human cure, He healed the servant of the centurion from a distance, He lifted the fever from Peter's mother in law, and evening after evening He healed multitudes and set free those oppressed spiritually. He has power over the body and over the spiritual realm, and He even made a place in the law for the cleansing of a leper so that there would be room for Him to do what nature could not do. That same Lord is able to heal now. At the same time we do not presume to tell God what He must do in every case, as we see with Paul who prayed three times about his thorn and learned to trust God's wisdom and grace. So we come with confidence but also with submission, asking for healing while trusting His perfect will. Faith itself is not something we work up, it is a gift God gives to our hearts as He draws us, so we ask Him to grant you quiet trust as you look to Him.
For the anxiety and pressure that often accompany physical strain, I prayed that you would be able to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Salvation rests not on our efforts but on what He has already accomplished, and when that work was finished God rested. In the same way we can rest in Him day by day. God is also working in you because He wants to work through you. Often as He shapes us He smooths rough edges, and that shaping can feel uncomfortable and we may not understand it at the moment. Scripture encourages us to count it joy when we face testing, because He is preparing us for the work He has planned for us. May He give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ, and help you to cast every care on Him.
For your work at the high school, I thank God with you that the schedule as a whole is good, and I have prayed specifically about Monday and Tuesday. I asked that if it is His will, the fifth period on those days would be moved to the third period where there is an opening, so you could catch the earlier train and not wait an hour and a half, and that the long gap on Monday from ten in the morning until eight in the evening with four empty hours in between would be resolved in your favor. The Lord stirs willing hearts to accomplish His work, and He can stir the hearts of those who make schedules and decisions. He has a purpose for you in that school and wants to work through you there. Waiting can be hard, and impatience often gets in the way of seeing what God will do, so I prayed for patience and for God to work this out in His time and way.
May the Lord grant you health in your body, peace in your mind, and wisdom and favor in your work, and may you know His presence drawing you near and keeping you in His grace through Jesus Christ.
