Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer expresses deep weariness from ongoing attacks, confusion and real injustice, including fraud against your account, and a longing simply to rest and to wake with strength to face what is before you. God hears that cry and He has not left you without hope or help.
Scripture speaks of a rest that remains for the people of God. It is not a rest we earn by trying harder, figuring everything out, or proving ourselves. We enter that rest by believing. When we trust that Jesus has finished the work on the cross for us, we can cease from our own striving the way God ceased from His work. Faith is the only place where true rest is found. You may wish God would show you every step of what He is doing so resting would feel easier, but rest does not come from seeing the whole plan. It comes from trusting the One who holds the plan. Commitment brings that rest as well. When you commit your way to the Lord and trust Him, you can rest in Him and wait patiently, knowing His will is best even when you do not understand it. That is the rest that guards the heart when chaos presses in.
The confusion and opposition you describe are also part of a spiritual battle. The enemy has many ways to hinder and discourage, through ridicule, assault, fear, and persistent harassment. Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on the threats of the enemy, but faith grows when our eyes are fixed on the Lord. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Remembering the Lord changes the perspective, for greater is He who is with you than any who come against you.
It is important to recognize these attacks for what they are, so you do not fight them only with human effort. Our weapons are not of the flesh. They are mighty through God. God has given spiritual armor to withstand the evil day. Stand with truth, for Jesus Himself is the truth. Take up the Word of God, keeping it in your heart and on your lips. When Jesus was attacked He answered with what is written, and that same Word both defends you and breaks the strongholds of the enemy. Prayer is central, and prayer is joined with wisdom and practical watchfulness. Just as those who rebuilt the walls prayed to God and also set a watch day and night, so you can pray and also take practical steps. Bring the fraud and injustice before the Lord, and also take the earthly steps that are available to you, contacting your bank to dispute the charges, keeping records, and seeking rightful help where it can be given. Prayer does not replace action, and action without prayer leaves you without the true defense.
I pray for you now that the Lord will give you rest in the deepest sense, rest in Christ and His finished work, and also the simple physical rest you need, to sleep and to wake renewed. May He quiet confusion, lift fear, and fill you with faith as you rest on Him, not only when there is nothing else to try, but as your first and steady confidence. May He be your defense against every attack of the enemy, teach you to resist by keeping the Lord between you and the enemy, and to rejoice that Jesus has already won the victory. And I ask Him to bring truth to light concerning the fraud on your account, to reverse what is false, to correct injustice, and to provide for your needs with His peace that passes understanding as you wait on Him.
