God’s goodness should fill you with awe and gratitude, leading you to fear and serve Him wholeheartedly.
We join with you in claiming the promise of Deut 28:13 where it is written Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them. We love your faith to declare the Word of God over yourself, your family, and even your beloved pets, and we cover this declaration with the precious blood of Jesus.
We want to gently encourage you that this verse is not a formula to be loosened or used as an incantation, but a covenant blessing that flows from a heart of obedience and faith in Christ. The blessings of Deut 28:1-2 tell us It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God's voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you on high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you will listen to Yahweh your God's voice. In the new covenant, we are able to walk in obedience not by our own strength but through faith in Jesus who fulfilled the law for us, and as we abide in Him. As it says in Josh 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein, for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. And in James 1:22 Be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
We also rejoice that you pleaded the blood of Jesus, for it is only through His name and His shed blood that we have access to the Father and to every spiritual blessing. There is power in His blood to forgive, to cleanse, and to protect, not as a magical phrase but as our confidence in His finished work on the cross.
We pray together for you now.
Father in Jesus name we thank You for this dear one and their family. We thank You that You desire to bless them greatly and to lift them up as the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, as they walk in obedience to You. We ask that You help them to hear Your voice, to meditate on Your Word daily, and to walk by faith in Jesus Christ. We ask for Your abundant blessing, Your favor, and Your protection to rest greatly upon them and upon their entire household. We thank You that You care for all Your creation, for Your Word says The righteous cares for the soul of his animal in Prov 12:10 and You preserve man and animal in Psalm 36:6, so we ask Your hand of health, safety, and peace upon their pets as well. Remove every glitch, every hindrance, every scheme of the enemy, and let Your perfect will be done in their lives. We plead the blood of Jesus over them, their home, and all that You have entrusted to them, and we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You in Rom 8:28. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness in Matt 6:33 and to trust that all these things will be added. We declare Your goodness over them and we give You all the glory, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. We hear your heart to have God's favor and covering over you, your family and your pets, and to live under the blood of Jesus. Wanting to be lifted up and kept close by Him, and to see those you love held securely too, is a good and honest desire.

It is good that you have turned to the Word of the Lord and pleaded His promise, for Jehovah has spoken and His Word abides. You have laid hold upon that word in Deuteronomy 28:13, that the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail, and you have pleaded the precious blood of Christ. This is well, for you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Yet let us understand the promise rightly. That word in Deuteronomy was spoken to Israel within the covenant of obedience, and it teaches us that blessing follows walking in the statutes of the Lord. It is not a charm to be loosened as an incantation, but a revelation of God's gracious order. The true Head of His people is Christ Himself, and when we are in Him by Sovereign Grace through faith alone, we are lifted from being slaves to sin and made to sit in heavenly places in Him. To be the head and not the tail is not to boast of our own strength, but to be kept close to Christ the Head, to walk in obedience and humility, and to stand fast at the end of the day.
We will pray for you according to the will of God.
Our Father in heaven, we thank Thee that Thou hast provided redemption through the blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ alone, by which sinners are forgiven and made children of God. We ask that this dear soul and their household may know the full blessing of being in Christ, who is the Head of all things to His church. Grant them grace to walk in Thy ways, to keep Thy commandments not as a burden but as the fruit of love. Let them know what it is to be kept from evil and led not into temptation, but delivered and upheld by Thine hand.
We ask Thy tender care over this family and over the creatures Thou hast entrusted to them, for Thou carest for all Thy works and not a sparrow falls without Thy notice. Keep them in safety, provide for their needs, and let Thy peace rest upon their home. Above all, make Christ their comfort and confidence, that whether in little present trials or in greater things, they may dwell in safety under the shelter of Thy love.
We plead not our merit, but the blood of Jesus, and pray that they may have not only life, but have it more abundantly in Him. Let Thy will be done, and let them be found faithful, looking not to glitches or earthly gain, but to the crown of life that fadeth not away. In the name of Jesus our only hope, Amen.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I thank You for this person and this family. I thank You for the blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of sins, and for the promise that all who trust in Him are made Your children. I ask that You draw each one in this household to know Christ more deeply, to walk in faith and obedience, and to know the spiritual blessings that are theirs in Him, life, freedom, adoption, and hope. Provide for their needs as You see best, guard them from evil, give them wisdom and strength, and in Your kindness care also for the pets You have entrusted to them. Lead them to seek Your kingdom first, trusting that You will supply what is needed. Keep them in Your peace and make Your will be done in their lives. Amen.

Your desire to stand on Deuteronomy 28:13 and to ask for the covering of the blood of Jesus over your family and even your pets is heard, and it is good to want God’s blessing in that way.
It helps to remember what that verse meant when it was first given. Deuteronomy means second law, and it is Moses speaking at the very end of his life when he was about ### years old. He was addressing a new generation who had not personally seen the deliverance from Egypt, and he was reviewing what God had done and what God required. His great theme is obedience.
In that context God set before the people a blessing and a curse and told them the choice was theirs. If they would listen to and obey the voice of the Lord, blessing would follow. That is where this promise comes in, that the Lord would make them the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, the lender and not the borrower. But the same chapter also gives the reverse. If they would not obey, the curses would pursue and overtake them, and the stranger would become the head while they became the tail, the borrower and not the lender. The point was not a formula to repeat, but a covenant call to walk faithfully with God.
Jesus knew this book well and quoted from it more than any other Old Testament book, especially when He was tempted. He quoted the words that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. That teaches us how to use Scripture. We do not live by using a single verse as a spoken charm to loosen blessing, but by feeding on all of God’s Word and ordering our lives by it. We are not to do what is right in our own eyes, but what God declares to be right, with a heart wholly toward Him.
Through the work of Jesus Christ we no longer relate to God on the basis of trying to earn blessing by keeping the law. We relate through grace, through faith in Christ alone for salvation. Obedience is still vital, not as a way to buy God’s favor, but as the loving response of those who have received His grace. God tests us not because He needs to learn what is in us, for He already knows, but to show us what is in our own hearts and whether we will truly trust Him.
So instead of treating Deuteronomy 28:13 as words to loosen over your life, take it as an invitation to trust and obey. God wants your whole heart, and He promises to be with you whether on the mountaintop or even if you find yourself in a wilderness season. You do not need to fear, for the Lord Himself fights for His people.
Praying for you now, that God in His mercy through the blood of Jesus shed for forgiveness and life would cover you and your household. May He give you faith to walk in obedience to His Word, to seek first His will, and to trust His provision and protection. May He show His kindness to your family and have care over the pets He has entrusted to you, and may He lift you up to walk in the true blessing that is found in belonging to Christ and living by every word that proceeds from God.
