The Saviour You Need
Stop looking to yourself for salvation and trust Christ, who is perfectly willing and able to save you.
We join with you in claiming the promise of Deut 28:13 over you, your family, your household and even the pets God has entrusted to your care, and we rejoice that you desire to be covered by the blood of Jesus.

We love your faith to declare that you are the head and not the tail, and we agree with you for that blessing. We also want to share the full counsel of this verse so you can walk in it with understanding and not as a formula. The verse says, Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them, Deut 28:13. The verses before it explain, It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you on high above all the nations of the earth, Deut 28:1. This is not a phrase we loosen as an incantation, but a covenant promise for those who walk in humble obedience and faith in Christ. God exalts us not for pride or self promotion, but so we can lead with righteousness, wisdom and service to others. As it is written, Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you, James 4:10.

We also rejoice that you invoked the blood of Jesus, for it is only through that blood that we have access to every blessing. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, Eph 1:7. And we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony, Rev 12:11. It is that blood that makes us worthy to stand before the Father and to receive the blessings of obedience, not our own merit.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your Word and for the promise that You will make Your obedient children the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. We ask that You help our dear one and their family to listen diligently to Your voice, to observe and to do what You command, not in legalism but in love and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Cause them to walk in wisdom, integrity and accuracy in all they do, that their work and decisions would reflect Your excellence. Let every room and every area of their home, what they have called backrooms, be filled with Your peace, order and blessing forevermore. We ask Your hand of protection and care over their pets as well, for a righteous man respects the life of his animal, Prov 12:10, and You care for all creation. Let Your favor rest greatly upon this household, and let them be a testimony of Your goodness to all around them. We plead the blood of Jesus over them, their family, their home and all that You have given them, and we ask that You keep them from the enemy and cause them to walk as heads, as leaders in righteousness, humility and love, giving glory to You alone. We ask that You establish them and keep them, that You make Your face to shine upon them, and that they would continue to abide in Christ, bearing much fruit. We pray this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our redeemer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to meditate on His Word day and night, for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success, Josh 1:8, and to remember that God delights to bless those who seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, Matt 6:33. Keep declaring His promises with a heart of obedience and thanksgiving, and trust that He who promised is faithful.

We were encouraged to read your note and your heart to claim God's goodness over your whole household, including your pets. Thank you for letting us pray with you in this thankful place.

We hear how much you want you and your family to walk closely with the Lord and live under His favor, not pushed around by circumstances. That desire to stay near Him and honor Him matters more than any formula, and we join you in thanking Him for the covering we have in Christ.

One thought that may encourage you as you keep praying this way is that blessing in Scripture is pictured as adding weight and value to someone, speaking worth over them. As you continue to thank God, you are already practicing that, speaking His goodness over your home day by day.

If it helps, keep it simple and steady. Continue to tell the Lord thank you together in your own words at home, and to walk faithfully in the small everyday choices where He shows you His way.

Father, we thank You for this family and for every good gift You have given them. We thank You for Your nearness and for the blood of Jesus that covers them. Keep them close to You, guide their steps, guard their home and their pets, and help them know Your peace and provision as they trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and right desire to seek the blessing of the Lord upon yourself and your household, and to plead the precious blood of Jesus as the only ground upon which any blessing can come to sinners.

The verse you have laid hold upon, that the Lord would make you the head and not the tail, was spoken to Israel under the covenant at Sinai, and it teaches us that obedience and blessing walk together. Yet we must remember that every blessing now comes to us with the hallmark of Sovereign Grace upon it, and all spiritual blessings come from the Father in Christ. We have never earned one, we could never create one. As it is written, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

To be the head and not the tail is not a charm to be loosed by repeating words, but a mercy to be sought humbly at the throne of grace. The true headship which God gives is to be kept from sin, to stand fast, to walk in His ways, and to be a blessing to others. If you wish to be safe from sin and to be kept faithful, ask God for that great blessing and He will give it to you, for He delights to give to them that ask in the name of Jesus.

I do pray for you according to the will of God. May the Lord bless you and your family, and keep you in His fear and favor. May He set His gracious presence over your home, for that is the greatest blessing of all, and make you to be a blessing in every place He has put you. May He in His kindness care for all that He has entrusted to your stewardship, even the living creatures within your household, and keep you all under the shadow of His providence. May you know whom you have believed, and have a firm grip of spiritual mercies, not by perhaps, but by a sure faith in Christ Jesus the Lord, through whose blood alone we are accepted and blessed.

Seek first to be right with God through faith in Christ, and then all that He sees needful and good for you shall be added. Trust not in the repeating of a verse, but in the living Christ who fulfills all the promises to His people.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer shows a deep desire to live under God's blessing, and that desire itself is good and right. I want to help you understand what the blessing of Deuteronomy 28:13 truly means so that your faith may rest on solid ground.

That verse was spoken to Israel under the covenant given through Moses. The promise, you shall be the head and not the tail, was tied to hearing and obeying the voice of the Lord and walking in His ways. It was a picture of a people who, by obedience, would show God's wisdom to the nations. It was not given as a phrase to be loosened or repeated as an incantation to make things happen, and the blood of Jesus is not a formula to add power to words, but the holy sacrifice by which we receive forgiveness, adoption as sons and daughters, and peace with God.

The greater blessing we have now is not through Moses but through Christ Jesus. The old blessings spoke of the fruit of the body, of going out and coming in, of earthly increase. The blessing we have in Christ is every spiritual blessing. You are made forgiven, made free, made a child of God, made an heir with Christ. As the patriarchs learned, the full enjoyment of God's promises is not always in present comfort or outward success, but in what is to come, and our hope is set there. In this world we still have tribulation, yet we have Christ.

If you want to know what it means to be the head and not the tail today, Scripture points us to humility. The head of all virtue is humility. God looks to the one who is meek and contrite and trembles at His word. To be the head in God's eyes is to serve, to be faithful in small things, to walk accurately and obediently before Him, not to claim status for ourselves but to let Christ be honored in us.

So I pray for you, for your family, and for the creatures entrusted to your care, that God in His mercy would keep you. May He wash you and keep you in the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, and fill you with spiritual blessings in Christ. May He teach you to walk in obedience and humility, to love His word and keep it, and to live with accuracy and faithfulness in all that He has given you to do. May He guard your household and show you that you lack nothing needful in Christ, who with Himself freely gives us all things. May you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting Him for all earthly needs according to His wisdom.

May the Lord lead you away from trusting in repeated phrases and toward trusting in the living Christ Himself, who is our true head, and may you find rest in Him. Amen.
