We hear your heart and we join with you in wanting God's very best for your life, and we thank you for sharing this desire for a godly marriage with us.
We rejoice that you are claiming Deut 28:13, where it is written, Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. And you will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which we command you today, to observe and to do them. We want to encourage you that this promise is given in the context of obedience and walking closely with the Lord, not as a formula to be loosened or spoken urgently to force His hand, but as a blessing that flows from diligently seeking Him and keeping His ways. His timing is perfect, and His best is worth waiting for.
We also hear your prayer for a Boaz, and we agree that the Lord does not give stones when His children ask for bread, as Jesus taught in Matt 7:9-11. Boaz in the book of Ruth was not simply a man who was attractive or who followed Ruth everywhere, he was a man of noble character, a provider, a protector, a man of integrity and faith who honored God and honored Ruth with purity and respect before marriage. That is the kind of Boaz we pray for you, a man who will pursue you in a godly way toward holy marriage, not merely attraction or attention.
We must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this request was expressed, because we want you to be lifted up into all God has for you. The phrase you used to describe the man you desire is crude and rooted in lust rather than godly love. Scripture calls us to a different standard for our speech and our desires, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear, Eph 4:29. And again, But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints, Eph 5:3. A fine appearance is fleeting, but a man who fears Yahweh is to be praised, Prov 31:30. We encourage you to pray not first for a man you are greatly attracted to outwardly, but for a man whose heart is greatly attracted to Jesus, for that is what will make him faithful, loyal, and able to love you as Christ loves the church.
We also want to gently address the idea of a man who follows you everywhere you go and the desire for a soul mate connection. While shared interests like loving animals can be a blessing, and mutual affection is beautiful, true biblical love is not defined by constant following or mystical soul ties, but by a covenant commitment rooted in Christ, where both are equally yoked in faith. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity, 2 Cor 6:14. You said at least loves the Lord so he does not hate you, but Scripture calls us to so much more than the bare minimum. We pray for a man who does not merely tolerate faith, but who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength, Mark 12:30, and who is washed in the blood of Jesus, for it is only through that blood that any of us are made new. You rightly mentioned the blood of Jesus, and we affirm with you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We pray you both know Him deeply as Savior and Lord.
We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and we want to endorse that holy calling for you. Therefore we encourage you to see this season not as a search for a boyfriend or a partner for companionship or physical attraction, but as courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer. If you are drawn to a man, we urge you to guard purity together and to flee sexual immorality, for the Bible is clear, Flee sexual immorality, 1 Cor 6:18, and marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, Heb 13:4. Any physical intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and is not God's best, and a true Boaz will not ask you to compromise this, but will lead you toward holiness.
We pray with you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne together and we lift up our sister to You. We thank You that You see the desires of her heart and that You know her longing to be the head and not the tail through obedience to You. Teach her to delight herself in You first, that You may give her the desires of her heart, Psalm 37:4, and to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing all these things will be added to her, Matt 6:33. Lord, we ask that if it is Your will, You would bring into her life in Your perfect timing a godly husband, a true Boaz, a man of faith who loves You with His whole heart, who is faithful and loyal because he is faithful to You, who sees her as a fellow heir of the grace of life, 1 Pet 3:7, and equal in value before You, yet who will love her as Christ loves the church and lead his home with strength and humility. Keep them both pure until the covenant of marriage, where a man will leave his father and his mother and will join with his wife and they will be one flesh, Gen 2:24. Guard her tongue and her thoughts, that they may be pleasing to You, and guard her heart from urgency and anxiety, for Your timing is best. Cleanse us all by the blood of Jesus and draw this future husband, if he does not yet fully know You, into full salvation and devotion to Christ. We trust Your goodness and Your plan, and we pray all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus, amen.
