Desperately in need of a miracle

Your terror is great, but Christ is greater. When the women at the tomb were shaking with fear, the risen Lord met them and said, “Be not afraid.” He did not scold their dread; He cast it out by His presence and sent them with joy to tell of His victory. You too are met by this same Lord. Your illness, your debts, the shadow of a long dying, they roar like the flood. But remember Noah: warned of things not seen, moved with godly fear, he built the ark and saved his household. His fear was not a foe but a spur, driving him to act on God’s word. So let your terror drive you not into the pit of despair but into the pierced hands of Christ. Lay hold of Him by faith, as the women held His feet, and receive the sure proof that death is already dissolved. He gave His own body over to the grave so that your body, however broken, is not abandoned to corruption.

You fear leaving your family in ruin. But God is faithful who called you into the fellowship of His Son; He will not forsake them. Your true calamity would be to die outside of Christ, not to die with debts. Set your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. Your present anguish is a birth pang, but He has loosed the pains of death. Instead of begging for the rapture, beg for grace to trust Him even in the slow undoing of your flesh. The life you now live, however diminished, you live by faith in the Son of God who loved you and gave Himself for you. In this storm, your ark is not a mere escape from sickness but a heart anchored in His faithfulness. Cry out with all your love, however trembling: “My God, my God!” He who justified you will not condemn you; He who intercedes for you will not abandon you. So lift up your head. Whether you are taken swiftly or slowly, you go to meet the Lord, and He will say to your soul, “All hail.” Be not afraid.

Your message weighs heavy on my heart. I hear the terror and the strain, and I want you to know that your cries are not falling on deaf ears. When the body fails and the debts mount and every outcome seems darker than the last, it’s easy to feel abandoned, as if God has left the room. But the grip of fear is not from Him. Scripture tells us plainly that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. That doesn’t mean you’re failing because fear is present. It means you are in a battle, and the very breath you need to fight it is still being supplied.

Your request reveals something very honest: you want to be healed so you can clean up the mess. That’s understandable, but let me gently reframe that. The righteousness that saves you, the standing you have before God, has never depended on your ability to fix anything. If it did, Christ’s death would be meaningless. The just, the ones declared right with God, live by faith, not by finally getting their finances in order, not by sparing their family every hardship, and not even by avoiding a painful death. Faith is what connects us to the promise, and that faith itself is a gift. You didn’t earn the Holy Spirit when you first believed; you received Him by the hearing of faith. In the same way, the faith you need for this very moment is something God can give you, even when your own reservoir feels bone dry.

I know you hoped for the rapture before things got worse, and that hope has been deferred. Your heart is sick with waiting. But remember that Jesus has already abolished death. Its sting is real, the nausea and the suffering are real, but the ultimate separation has been defeated. Even if your consciousness feels clouded by pain, the life of God in you is not extinguished. You are still an heir of the kingdom, and no amount of debt can change that inheritance.

The men and women of faith we read about often had lapses. Some pawned off their wives as sisters; others argued with God; many faced circumstances that looked impossible. Their faith wasn’t a constant, unshakable feeling. It was a gift given for the moment of need, a reaching toward the invisible God who holds all things together. You don’t need to manufacture a lifelong faith right now. You only need the faith for this next breath, this next conversation, this next prayer. I’m asking the Lord to grant you exactly that, the specific gift of faith to trust Him with the mess, with your family’s future, and with your own life, whether He chooses to heal your body here or to give you the crown of life that awaits.

Let the terror drive you not into isolation, but into the arms of the One who is acquainted with suffering. When you pray, you don’t have to negotiate or promise to clean up your life. You can simply say, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” I am praying that His power would be made evident in your weakness, that the peace of a sound mind would quiet the chaos, and that you would know, deep in your spirit, that you are not forsaken.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your heart before the Lord these past days. Your raw honesty about the terror, the strain on your faith, and the weight of both physical suffering and financial burden has moved us to pray with even greater urgency. We have asked our Father to surround you with His peace—a peace that surpasses understanding—so that the fear of what may come would lose its grip on your heart. We’ve prayed for healing, yes, but also for the strength to face each moment, trusting that He holds your future and the future of those you love.

We’ve specifically asked God to intervene in your health, that the antibiotics would take full effect and that your body would rally in ways only He can orchestrate. We’ve also lifted up the mountain of debt, asking Him to provide wisdom, unexpected resources, and favor to help you navigate the financial mess with clarity and hope. And we’ve prayed against the lie that you are abandoned, reminding our own hearts—and yours—that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

If you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of His faithfulness—a moment of relief, a kind word, a bill unexpectedly covered—we would be so encouraged to hear it. Your testimony could be the very thing that strengthens another’s faith. But if the battle still rages and the answers feel distant, we want you to know we’re not walking away. Post your request again, and we will continue to stand with you, storming heaven on your behalf until His promises break through.

Above all, we’ve prayed that you would sense His presence in the midst of the storm, that you would know He is not just aware of your suffering but is working in ways you may not yet see. May He draw you close, renew your strength, and fill you with a hope that anchors your soul. We love you, we’re standing with you, and we’re believing with you for the miracle you desperately need.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
