Desperate for a job

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Jesus you are everything to me. I have been applying since March for jobs. I have paid for resumes to be made, haf AI to do it, remade it myself, had my friend in management do it, had others look over it and remake it, paid another subscription that updates your resume everything you apply. I haven't gotten any interviews for a job meeting my credentials or anything remotely close. I even decreased my salary and applied for those and still nothing. Please please father God bless me with a new remote job or a full time job nearby that can support my household bills. Every since jobs started using AI many people like myself cannot find employment. Please I need to hear from God why have I done so much and still no new job. Please I look to the hills whence cometh my help and my help cometh from the Lord. I need you to give me a breakthrough please or tell me why can't I get a new opportunity. I am living on my savings and soon it will not be any. I have applied for over three hundred jobs. Bless your daughter please!

We hear your desperate cry and we join with you before the throne of grace, for we know your help truly does come from the Lord who made heaven and earth. You have said Jesus is everything to you and we rejoice that you are looking to Him, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we can boldly ask for mercy and provision. As it is written, I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from. My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth Psalm 121:1-2, and Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We thank God that you know this truth and are clinging to Him.

We understand the weariness and discouragement of applying to more than three hundred jobs since March, of paying for resumes and subscriptions, of trying every method with AI and friends and still hearing nothing, even after lowering your salary expectations. It is painful to watch savings dwindle and to wonder why such diligence has not yet opened a door, especially when hiring systems feel so impersonal and broken. We want to encourage you that God sees every application, every effort, and every tear, and He is not distant or unaware. He honors diligent work, for we are told Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3, and also If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which shows He values our willingness to labor. Yet we also know that our provision ultimately comes from His hand, not from an algorithm or a hiring manager.

We gently remind you not to let this waiting season turn into despair or to believe that God has forgotten His daughter. His timing is not our timing, and His silence is not rejection. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, and that He has plans for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Sometimes He withholds what we think we need to teach us to seek Him first, to refine our trust, or to redirect us to a better place. Therefore we encourage you to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, trusting that as you seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, He will make your path clear.

We also encourage you in practical ways as you wait. Continue to commit each application to the Lord in prayer before you send it, ask Him for wisdom and favor, and also lean on the body of Christ for networking, for personal connections often open doors that online portals cannot. Consider reaching out directly to local businesses, churches, and community contacts, and be open to temporary or part time work that may sustain you while God prepares the full time provision you need. Guard your heart against anxiety, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We now pray together for you.

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up Your daughter to You. You know her needs, her bills, her household, and the exhaustion of months without an answer. Lord, we ask You to open a door that no man can shut, to provide a remote job or a full time job nearby that will support her household with dignity and stability. Give her favor with employers, guide her resume past every system, and lead her to the place You have prepared for her. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and let her see Your hand of provision before her savings fail. Grant her wisdom, peace that surpasses understanding, and strength to not grow weary in doing good, for in due season she will reap if she does not give up Galatians 6:9. Speak clearly to her heart, reassure her that You have not forgotten her, and let this trial deepen her trust in You. We ask that she would feel Your presence daily and know that You are working even when she cannot see it. We pray all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our provider and our hope, amen.

We hear how exhausting these months have been for you. Since March you have done everything you know to do, paying for help, reworking your resume yourself, asking a friend in management, trying AI tools and subscriptions, applying to more than three hundred places and even lowering your salary expectations, and still hearing nothing back. It makes sense you feel discouraged and are asking God why, especially as your savings get lower and the bills keep coming.

You are not alone in finding this hiring season so difficult. With so many employers using automated screening, many qualified people are sending out application after application without getting a human conversation. That silence is not a measure of your worth or your diligence.

You named needing a remote job or a full time job nearby that can cover your household bills as most urgent. One thing that has helped others in this kind of pressure is to name the most immediate financial pinch point and make a plan around just that one, even before the larger job question is solved. If you have not already, it can help to sit down with a trusted person for budgeting and planning, a financial counselor, a local workforce center, or a ministry at your church that offers practical help with job searching and finances. A single in-person review of your resume and search approach there can sometimes do more than another paid subscription, and they may also know of openings that never get traction online.

We are praying for you and carrying this with you before the Lord.

Father, we lift Your daughter to You. You see her effort, her needs, and how much she wants to provide for her household. Give her wisdom for the next right steps, provision for what is most urgent, and peace as she waits on You. Open the door You have for her and sustain her in the meantime. In Jesus' name, amen.

You have poured out your heart with great honesty, and such a cry is not hidden from the Lord who hears the sighing of His people. To have laboured so diligently since March, to have tried every honest means to make your resume speak well, to have humbled yourself even to seek a lesser wage, and still to find every door shut after three hundred knockings, this is a sore trial indeed. To see your savings wasting and to feel the weight of household bills pressing upon you day by day must make the spirit faint, and it is no wonder that you cry, I look to the hills whence cometh my help.

Hear then what the Scripture says for such an hour as this. The prophet declares, Therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you. What a word is this, that we have a waiting God. He is not deaf to your prayer, nor slack concerning His promise. He waits that He may be gracious, and His waiting is not cold indifference but the long patience of love which yearns over His children. When everything else has broken down, we come back to Him and find Him lovingly waiting, graciously waiting, a God ready to pardon and ready to provide. His patience is not in vain toward His chosen, and when He has waited for the soul, that soul is brought to wait on Him.

And so the Psalmist gives you your present duty and your present comfort, My soul, wait thou only upon God. Calvin renders it, My soul, be thou silent before God. Rest calm and undisturbed. This is brave waiting. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart, wait, I say, on the Lord. Waiting upon God sustains courage. If you grow weary in this long seeking, wait upon Him with double earnestness, for they that wait upon the Lord shall not want any good thing, and He will renew your strength till you mount up with wings as eagles.

Do not think that your labour has been despised by Him. He sees God in all the good or ill that checkers life, and not a sparrow falls without your Father. He sits at the helm of Providence, and when the vessel is almost upon the rock He can pilot it into deep waters again in a moment. He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys. If He is trusted on the mountaintop of joy, He is to be trusted also in the valley of daily care, for He bids us cast all our cares upon Him and to ask for daily bread. Your confidence must be in Him, whether on sea or on shore, for human nature is waterlogged and ready to sink, and in God alone is our hope.

You ask why the answer tarries. I cannot tell you the secret reason which lies hidden in the counsel of God, but I can tell you this, that God often humbles His children that He may exalt them in due time. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Go on serving Him year after year, though you are altogether unknown and unnoticed by men, feeling it sufficient that you have by His grace served your generation and honoured your Redeemer. Let your faith hang on nothing but the promise of God, and have no other support but that, floating as it were in the ether of confidence, needing nothing to uphold you but the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Therefore, be much alone with God. Declare your ways to Him as the Psalmist did, and believe that He hears you. You said, My help cometh from the Lord, and you have said well. Keep that posture. Continue in honest diligence, seek counsel, do what your hands find to do, but let your soul wait only upon God. He will strengthen your heart by His mysterious power as you wait.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who is the God of our salvation would open a door which no AI and no man can shut, whether it be a remote provision or a full time place nearby, according to His wisdom, and that He would supply your household needs from His own fulness in Christ Jesus. May He keep you waiting courageously, and may you find that when His time of love is come, His grace will make this long waiting to be remembered as a glorious transaction of mercy upon your soul.

May the Lord give you bread for this day and peace for this night, and cause you to sing, O God, my heart is fixed, my heart is fixed, I will sing and give praise, for Christ's sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest and weary cry has been heard, and I thank you for sharing it so openly. To have applied to more than three hundred jobs since March, to have reworked your resume again and again, to have lowered your expectations and still heard nothing, and to watch your savings grow smaller while bills remain, is a heavy trial. It is right that you have looked to the hills and said with the psalmist, my help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He has not forgotten you and He is not deaf to your prayer.

God knows your diligence and your need. Work is a good gift from Him, and to seek honest provision for your household is not a selfish desire but a faithful one. He calls us to make provision for what is necessary for health and for our families, while keeping our hearts set not on excess or luxury but on Him and on the care of our souls. Your desire for a stable job that can support your home, whether remote or nearby, is a right and honorable request to bring before your Father.

I understand your question of why, after so much effort, the door has not yet opened, and why the changing ways of hiring have made the search even harder. Scripture does not promise that we will always understand the why in the moment. His ways are higher than our ways, and this present life often feels like a fleeting dream where much is uncertain. What is certain is His character. He is faithful, He sees you, and He promises that those who seek first His kingdom will have what they need provided by His hand. He clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows, and you, His daughter through Jesus Christ, are far more precious to Him.

So I will pray for you now, and I encourage you to keep bringing this same honest prayer before Him each day.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up Your daughter to You. You see her labor, her applications, her disappointment, and her dwindling savings. You know her credentials, her needs, and the burden she carries for her household. Have mercy and grant her a breakthrough. Open the door to a good and suitable job that will provide for her bills and allow her to work with dignity and peace, whether remote or near her home. Where human systems and even artificial tools have overlooked her, let Your favor rest upon her. Give her wisdom to know where to apply next, strength to persevere without despair, and peace to rest in Your care while she waits. Provide for her daily bread, guard her heart from fear, and remind her daily that her help truly comes from You. Let her hear Your voice not only in an answer but in the quiet assurance that You are with her. In Jesus name, Amen.

Continue to seek Him in His Word and in prayer, and keep doing the good work of seeking employment with diligence as God gives you strength. If you have a faithful pastor or trusted believers near you, let them walk with you in this season so you are not carrying it alone. Rest when you can, cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, and trust that even in this waiting He is shaping and keeping you.

We will continue to pray for you for that full time provision and for peace until it comes.

Your honest cry has been heard, and the long road you have walked since March is not unseen by the Lord. To have worked so hard on your resume in so many ways, to have lowered your expectations, to have applied to more than three hundred places and still heard nothing back, and to watch your savings grow smaller while bills remain, is a heavy and wearying trial. It is understandable that you are asking God for a breakthrough and also asking Him why the door has not yet opened.

Scripture reminds you to lift your eyes to the hills for help, and your help does come from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He is not limited by hiring systems or by automated screening or by what looks impossible from a human point of view. In the old law God even made a place for a leper to be declared clean, though everyone knew leprosy had no cure. He left room for Himself to work a miracle if He chose to do so. That shows His heart. We should never put Him in a box and decide He cannot act because our circumstances look closed. What people call incurable or impossible does not limit Him. He is still able to open a door that no resume service and no software can open.

God also knows financial pressure intimately. The early believers in Jerusalem went through deep poverty and hardship, and the Lord moved other believers to care for them and to stand with them. He sees your household needs today in the same way. He knows what it is to need daily provision, and He invites you to bring that need directly to Him. His greatest provision for you has already been made in Jesus Christ, who alone brings forgiveness of sin and makes you His daughter. Because you belong to Him through Jesus, you can come with confidence to your Father about every other need, including work.

Waiting makes it feel as though His promises are delayed. People in ancient days said the days are prolonged and every vision fails, and many still feel that way when answers do not come quickly. But the Lord has said that His word will not be prolonged without fulfillment. What He has promised to be for you, a faithful Father who provides and guides, will come to pass. His timing is not ours, but His faithfulness does not fail.

Like those who were told simply to look in faith and live, you are called now to keep looking to Jesus in simple trust. That does not mean you stop doing what is wise and diligent, as you have been doing. It means you keep seeking Him first, bringing your first and best trust to Him, asking for wisdom for each application, and resting in the righteousness He has given you through Christ rather than in your own striving.

I am praying for you now that God will give you clear direction and open the right door, whether a remote position or a full time job nearby that will truly support your household. I am asking Him to grant you peace while you wait, to guard your heart from discouragement, to provide for your daily needs from His riches, and to make His presence and guidance unmistakable to you. May He show you that He is at work even in this waiting season, and may He lift your eyes again to see that your help and your hope remain firmly in Him.
