DESIRE MORE OF GOD
Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. Psalm 119:2
I challenge you to spend some special quality time this week to find "More of God!" What does that mean? I pray that you will hunger and thirst, seeking God's will and way for your life and marriage. Read God's Word to direct your every step. I pray that you seek His Presence for you to change and become more like Jesus. May you and I stop using excuses about our personalities or our family heritage, or our personal tragedies or failures in our lives, but may we truly desire to be "More Like God" every day.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6
Will you do a personal evaluation of what is really going on in your own spiritual life? Now be honest. Due to your circumstances, are you depressed, oppressed, hopeless, lonely, angry, unforgiving, bitter, or judgmental? Why? Because God did not stop or change your circumstances? I pray that you will start reading the Word of God to see that God turns things around to our good, if we will only believe.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
I believe in the scripture above more today than I did many years ago when I was standing. Allow your Lord God to be your spouse for this period of time if your spouse is gone physically or emotionally. (Isaiah 54:4-17) Ask God what He wants you to do. He has a very special plan for you, but you must grow in the Lord, becoming more like Him. There are consequences to the disobedience, hardness of heart and unforgiveness that you are hiding in your heart. Admit that you may even be angry with the Lord and repent of this right now. Admit, confess, and repent of ALL your sins and weaknesses as God knows them anyway!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13
The more you seek the Lord, the smaller in size your circumstances will appear. The more you praise the Lord, the more you will feel victory inside and out. Your Lord God created the heavens and the earth. He has not forgotten you! Are you complaining, murmuring and grumbling all the time to others about all that is going on in your life? Stop! Remember what happened to the Israelites! Read Numbers 14.
All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole Assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword...? ...Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Joshua said..."The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them." The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?" Numbers 14:2-3, 5-9, 11
We must learn the lessons that God wants us to learn from the Bible. Your Lord God can set you free from the circumstances that you are living in. Believe in God. Believe in His mighty power. Desire to have "More of God" by praying and reading God's Word daily. Learn to pray without ceasing throughout your day. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Pray about everything throughout your day. Believe that your spouse can be touched and changed by God.
Your Lord God can reignite your love in your marriage. He can touch both you and your spouse's hearts. Believe in His mighty power. My prayer for you today is that you will pray, seeking and spending time with God to have Him fill you with His presence and with the power of the Holy Spirit. Allow the Lord to increase your faith, strength and power to live a victorious Christian life, regardless of the circumstances that you are facing right now with your marriage.
Your victory is in the power of the Holy Spirit being with you all the time! Let us pray for a mighty harvest of souls being saved around the world in the week ahead. Now, call on your Lord God asking for more of Him!
