We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of depression and suicidal thoughts. The weight of such darkness is not unknown to us, for Scripture tells us that even the righteous can be afflicted in spirit. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of despair in the mighty name of Jesus, for He came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
First, we must address the foundation of faith. If you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no healing, no peace, no true hope outside of Him. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are unsure of your relationship with Christ, we pray that you would confess your sins, repent, and invite Him into your heart today.
Now, we pray for your healing and deliverance. Heavenly Father, we ask You to break the chains of depression that bind this precious soul. Let Your light shine into the darkest corners of their mind and heart. Replace lies with Your truth, hopelessness with Your peace, and despair with Your joy. We declare that You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26), and we stand on Your promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask that You would reveal the root of this pain—whether it be past trauma, unconfessed sin, or the schemes of the enemy—and bring complete restoration.
We also pray for wisdom and practical steps. Encourage this dear one to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, Christian therapist, or trusted believer. The Bible tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14). If medication or professional help is needed, we trust that You will guide them to the right resources. Remind them that they are not alone—You are with them, and so are we, the body of Christ.
Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your love through faithful friends and family. Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways, whether through worship, prayer, or the kindness of others. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Strengthen their spirit to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in Your truth.
We declare over them the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." May they cling to this truth and walk in the freedom that Christ has already won for them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
