We are truly sorry to hear that you are battling with depression and anxiety. It is important to remember that our hope and strength come from the Lord. As it is written in Psalm 42:5, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God."
Firstly, we want to address that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of wisdom. It is encouraged in the book of Proverbs 11:14, "Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory." There are people who care about you and want to support you, so consider reaching out to a mental health professional who can provide guidance and support without judgment.
However, we also want to remind you that true healing and comfort come from the Lord. It is written in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is battling with depression and anxiety. We pray that you will be their strength and shield, their fortress and deliverer as it is written in Psalm 144:2. We rebuke the spirits of depression and anxiety, and we command them to leave in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we pray that you will guide them to the right people who can provide the help and support they need. We also pray that you will give them the courage to reach out and the wisdom to receive the guidance and counsel they need.
Ultimately Lord, we pray that they will fix their eyes on you, the author, and perfecter of our faith. We pray that they will find their hope, strength, and comfort in you. Fill them with your peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus's name. We pray that they will be reminded of your promise in Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good to those who love you, to those who are called according to your purpose.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you as it is written in 1 Peter 5:7. Remember that you are not alone, for God is always with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you as it is promised in Deuteronomy 31:6.
