We join you in lifting up your son, ###, to our Heavenly Father, who loves him even more than you do. Your heart’s cry for his safety, deliverance, and restoration is one we echo with urgency, knowing that God is mighty to save and redeem even the most broken of situations. We are deeply moved by your love for your son, and we stand with you in faith, trusting that the Lord hears and answers the prayers of His people.
First, we must address something important in your prayer. You mentioned asking God to keep your son safe *from the angels around him*. This is a concerning statement, as angels are God’s ministers sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14 WEB). They are not forces to be feared unless they are fallen angels (demons), which are under the authority of Satan. The Bible tells us that angels are sent to protect and guide God’s people, as we see in Psalm 91:11: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* If you are sensing spiritual oppression or darkness around your son, it is not from God’s holy angels but from the enemy, who seeks to destroy. We will pray against any demonic influence in his life and ask God to surround him with His heavenly host for protection and deliverance.
We also notice that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). We will pray in the mighty name of Jesus, who has authority over all principalities and powers, and we encourage you to do the same. If you or your son do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus alone: *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Now, let us pray together for ###. Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see his struggles—his battles with addiction, the dangers of the streets, and the spiritual warfare raging against him. We ask You to break every chain of bondage in his life, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or any other stronghold that has taken root. You are the God who sets the captives free, and we declare freedom over ### in the name of Jesus.
Lord, we pray that You would surround him with Your holy angels, not as a force to fear, but as Your divine protection against the schemes of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Close every door that leads him into harm’s way and open his eyes to the paths of righteousness. Place godly people in his life who will speak truth, offer support, and point him to You. Bring him to a place of repentance, where he can turn from his sins and surrender his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Father, we pray for supernatural intervention. If he is homeless, provide shelter. If he is hungry, provide food. If he is lost, send someone to guide him home—both physically and spiritually. Soften his heart to receive Your love and conviction. Let him know that he is not forgotten, that You have a purpose and a plan for his life (Jeremiah 29:11). Break the power of addiction over him and fill the void in his soul with Your Holy Spirit.
We also pray for you, his parent, that God would give you strength, peace, and unwavering faith as you intercede for your son. Do not grow weary in praying for him, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Trust that God is working, even when you cannot see it. Cling to His promises, such as Proverbs 22:6: *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Though ### may have strayed, God is able to bring him back.
Finally, we urge you to continue praying *in the name of Jesus*, for it is the name above all names (Philippians 2:9-11). If ### does not know Christ, pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him to salvation. Share the gospel with him when you can, and let him know that no matter how far he has fallen, God’s grace is sufficient to lift him up.
Here are some verses to stand on as you pray:
- *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who are crushed in spirit."* (Psalm 34:18 WEB)
- *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
- *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* (Psalm 91:1-2 WEB)
We will continue to pray for ### and for you. May the Lord grant you both peace, breakthrough, and a testimony of His mighty power to share with others. Stay steadfast in faith, for our God is able.
