Demonic harassment

We have heard your cry for an end to demonic harassment that has targeted you for years and we stand with you together before the throne of grace to seek God's deliverance in Jesus' name. We know this battle is real and wearisome, but Scripture assures us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy seeks to harass, intimidate and steal peace, for your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8, yet we do not need to live in fear because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.

We want to gently address that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must share that it is only by His name that we have access to God and authority over the enemy. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. His death and resurrection disarmed the powers, having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them Colossians 2:15, and He has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you Luke 10:19. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9. We urge you to submit fully to God, to turn away from any opening to darkness, whether involvement in the occult, divination, sorcery, seeking mediums, or any practice that God calls detestable Deuteronomy 18:10, and to close every door by confessing sin, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Do not give place to the devil Ephesians 4:27 but fill your home and heart with the Word, with worship, with prayer and fasting, for this is how we resist.

We encourage you to daily put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11, to stand firm in faith, to pray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17, to abide in Christ and let His word abide in you, to fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can receive pastoral support and prayer, and to remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper Isaiah 54:17 and that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1.

We rebuke every spirit of harassment, oppression and torment that has targeted you and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that you are covered by the blood of the Lamb and that the enemy must flee as you submit to God, for resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear one who has endured years of harassment. We ask You to forgive every sin, to cleanse by the blood of Jesus, to close every door that has been opened to the enemy, and to fill every place with Your Holy Spirit, Your light and Your peace. We ask You to break every chain, to silence every voice, to end this harassment, and to surround this life with Your protection. Clothe this dear one with the full armor of God, with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet fitted with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word Ephesians 6:14-17. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear, let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7, and let there be restful sleep, quietness in the home, and joy in Your presence. We declare that whom the Son sets free is free indeed and we trust You to bring lasting freedom, restoration and testimony from this trial. We ask all this according to Your will in the name above every name, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We have been holding you in prayer since we read your note. Carrying this kind of harassment for years is exhausting, and we are grateful you reached out rather than trying to bear it quietly.

We want you to know you are not facing this alone. From what we have seen, lasting peace and clarity often come less through a single dramatic moment and more through steady, faithful walking with Jesus alongside other trusted believers who can listen and pray with you. Trying to battle in isolation can feel so much heavier.

If you do not already have that kind of support, one helpful next step could be to invite a pastor you trust or one or two mature believers who know you well to meet with you regularly simply to listen and pray with you. You do not need to have everything figured out before you go, just a willingness to be honest and let others stand with you in prayer over time.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. You see how long this has weighed on them and how weary they must feel. We ask for Your nearness and protection, for rest and for wisdom for each next step, and for faithful people to walk beside them. Lead them toward freedom and peace as they keep looking to You. In Jesus name, amen.

We have heard your cry and we have carried your burden before the Lord who hears the afflicted. To be harassed for years by the enemy is a sore trial, and the Lord knows the weight of it. Be assured that you are not forgotten, and that your request has been lifted up in prayer for deliverance.

We want you to know that our hope against such dark powers is not in our own strength, but in the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us that the Father has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. That deliverance is His work alone. As we have often said, deliverance from the power of sin and from the guilt of sin is as much the work of God as any other mercy, and where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification and for power over the enemy. He has invented the way of deliverance and He has found a ransom. His own Son has borne the penalty and broken the power of the adversary, so that when God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, the deliverance is certain and already accomplished at the cross.

You have a far richer theme for confidence than any earthly victory, for you have been delivered from worse enemies than any earthly foe, and saved by a greater salvation. Deborah sang of deliverance from earthly oppressors, but we sing of deliverance by the Lord Jesus who has spoiled principalities and powers. Deliverance is of the Lord, yet He calls us to stand in the means He has appointed.

Therefore we have prayed for you in this way, and we urge you to pray thus yourself:

O Lord our God, look upon this tried soul who has long been harassed by the powers of darkness. For the sake of Thy Son who was slain as the Lamb, bring effectual deliverance. Thou who didst bring Israel forth with silver and gold, bring this Thy child forth into liberty. Let the clock of mercy strike the hour of deliverance, and let it be known that He has brought them forth. Clothe this soul in the panoply of Christ, with truth and righteousness and the shield of faith, and grant peace within the borders of heart and home. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our ransom, rebuke the adversary and grant rest. Amen.

Take heart and continue to seek Him. Rest your soul upon Christ alone, for salvation is through Him alone. Keep close to the Word, be constant in prayer, resist the devil and he will flee from you, and walk in fellowship with faithful believers who can stand with you and watch with you. If you have not already done so, seek the counsel and prayer of godly pastors near you, that they may minister the Word to you and pray over you.

After affliction and after deliverance, the believer declares the works of the Lord. We pray that you will yet be able to say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, and that your long trial will become a testimony to the free grace and mighty power of God who alone delivers.
