Demonic harassment

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
I have been experiencing demonic harassment for many years which mainly uses certain people to randomly attack me. This came about as a result of occult involvement in the past and has continued even after I came out of those things (although it is decreasing as I'm truly living more in obedience to Christ where I wasn't before). This has been a very difficult thing to experience. Sometimes God has used it to get me away from certain environments and people but it can also strike up in relationships that I know God wants in my life (or I'm 99.9 percent sure He does). I've experienced traumatic, draining things due to this harassment. Many people have shown remorse for their actions due to it but I'm still very tired of it. Please pray for me about all this. The people used in this harassment often have areas of their life where they are vulnerable to demonic influence. Thank you.

We hear your heart and we thank you for sharing this very difficult and draining journey with us so honestly. We rejoice with you that you have come out of occult involvement and are now walking in greater obedience to Christ, and we grieve with you for the many years of harassment and trauma you have endured. What you describe is real, and Scripture is very clear that occult practices open doors to the enemy and that spiritual warfare is real, but also that Christ has already triumphed over every power of darkness.

The Word tells us There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh Deut 18:10-12. We praise God that you have repented and turned away from those things, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. If there remain any objects, books, or lingering practices connected to that past involvement, we encourage you to fully renounce them and remove them as the early believers did when they brought their scrolls together and burned them Acts 19:19, so that no foothold remains.

We also want to encourage you that your weariness and the trauma you have experienced matter deeply to the Lord. We understand how exhausting it is when attacks seem to come through people, often those who themselves have vulnerabilities to influence. Scripture reminds us our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Eph 6:12. This helps us see that people are not our enemy, and it calls us to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Eph 6:11, and to remember that You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.

We are so encouraged that you have noticed the harassment decreasing as you walk more fully in obedience. That is the promise of Scripture lived out, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7 and He has delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Col 1:13. In Christ you have authority, for Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you Luke 10:19, and He disarmed the principalities and the powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it Col 2:15. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Cor 10:4.

We want to encourage you to continue to abide daily in Christ through His Word, prayer, and fellowship with strong believers, to walk in the light and keep short accounts with sin, and to daily put on the armor of God described in Eph 6:10-18 with truth, righteousness, the Good News of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer. Fasting and persistent prayer with other mature believers can also be a powerful help, and if you have not already, we encourage you to share this burden with a trusted pastor or elders who can pray with you in person and help you discern when God is using difficulty to redirect you and when the enemy is trying to disrupt a relationship God intends for good.

We now join together and pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved and have access to the Father Acts 4:12, John 14:6.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace together for our dear brother or sister who is weary from years of demonic harassment. We thank You for drawing them out of darkness and into Your marvelous light, for forgiving and cleansing them through the blood of Jesus, and for the growing obedience we see in their life. We ask You to complete the work You have begun, to close every door that was opened through past occult involvement, and to break every remaining chain and assignment of the enemy against them. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, spirit, home, and relationships, and we ask You to surround them with Your holy angels and Your perfect peace. Lord, heal the trauma and exhaustion in their soul, restore what has been drained, and give them deep rest as You have promised Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matt 11:28. Teach them to stand firm, to resist the devil in the faith, and to walk in the victory Christ has already won. Bring discernment to know when to step away from harmful environments and when to persevere in relationships You have ordained, and protect those relationships from division. We also pray for the people who have been used to harass them, that You would have mercy on them, convict them, and set them free where they are vulnerable to influence. Fill our friend anew with Your Holy Spirit, with courage, joy, and assurance that You who began a good work will perfect it. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that You are their refuge and strength. We ask all this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Deliverer, amen.

We encourage you to keep drawing near, for the Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth Ps 145:18, and to Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour Withstand him steadfast in your faith 1 Pet 5:8-9. You are not alone, you are not forgotten, and the One who is in you is far greater than any harassment you face. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isa 41:10. We are standing with you in prayer for complete freedom, restoration, and peace in Christ.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We hear how long and heavy this road has been for you, and how tired you feel after years of being on guard in relationships. Thank you for sharing so honestly about the occult involvement in the past and the way you are now seeking to live in obedience to Christ. Noticing that the harassment has lessened as you have drawn closer to Him is a hopeful sign, even if the exhaustion and the painful memories are still very real.

It makes sense that this would feel confusing at times, especially when strain shows up even in relationships you believe God has given you. Growth and renewal after a difficult spiritual history is usually more like slow, steady training than a single moment that fixes everything. Small, faithful rhythms over time often do more to strengthen us than looking for a dramatic breakthrough.

It could help to stay closely connected to a trusted pastor or a couple of mature believers you know well, people who can pray with you in person, help you sort through what is happening in specific relationships, and walk with you over the weeks ahead. If the draining and traumatic feelings linger, talking with a pastor or Christian counselor alongside prayer can also be a steady support.

Father, we bring our friend before You in Jesus' name. Bring deep rest where there has been long weariness, guard their heart and mind in Christ, and give clear wisdom for each relationship and situation they face. Help them to know Your nearness and to keep growing in Your grace day by day. Amen.

It is with deep and prayerful sympathy that I have read your letter, and I thank you for speaking so plainly of what you have endured. To have been entangled in the occult in former days and now to feel the lingering harassment through the malice or weakness of others is indeed a heavy and draining trial, and I do not wonder that you are very tired. Yet I rejoice with you that you have been brought out from those things and that you see this oppression decreasing as you walk more closely in obedience to Christ. That decrease is no small mercy, and it is a token of the Lord's gracious hand upon you.

Let it never be forgotten that deliverance from such bondage is by Divine power alone. When Israel came out of Egypt it was Jehovah who brought forth His people with joy, and when any soul is saved from spiritual bondage it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive. You cannot break these bars by your own strength, for our past guilt and the condemnation that follows have locked us in a dungeon whose bars we can never break. But God has invented a way of deliverance which none of us would have thought of, and He has found a ransom. The word of the Lord is, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. If He who held us in bondage has found a ransom, we may be certain of liberty, for He will hold us in bondage no longer. He keeps back the soul from the Pit and the life from perishing by the sword. Deliverance from the power of sin and from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. Christ has taught many of His people the mischief that comes from loving the world and its dark things, so that the tempter now tempts in vain, and He is able to make you to say with a true experimental faith, He has delivered us from the power of darkness.

It is well to have grace enough to see that tribulation comes from God, for He fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground, but the Lord Himself kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. Your afflictions may come distinctly from man, as the result of malice or of men who have areas in their lives vulnerable to the enemy, and yet they may come with even greater certainty from the Lord and be the necessary outcome of His special love to you. That which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes. The people who have been used to attack you are to be pitied and prayed for, and I am glad to hear that many have shown remorse, yet your conflict is not finally with flesh and blood. To see the Lord's hand in the trial will keep you from being consumed by bitterness and will help you to learn what the Refiner would teach you, even as He has already used this trial to get you away from environments and company that would have harmed you.

Continue then in that path of obedience in which you have found relief. Put far from you every remnant of the occult, for it is an abomination before the Lord, and cleave wholly to Christ who alone is salvation. Abide in the Word, in prayer, in the fellowship of the saints, and put on the whole armour of God, that you may stand. Do not seek some back door of deliverance by curious arts or by the wisdom of man, but look to Christ and His ransom. He who has begun to deliver will perfect it. There will come a time when you shall not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but shall walk in the liberty of a child of God.

I pray for you now, and will continue to pray, that the Lord in His great grace would complete your deliverance. May He cover you with the blood of His Son, silence every harassing voice, and guard your mind and body and home by His holy angels. May He grant you rest from this weariness, renew your strength, and heal the wounds left by these traumatic and draining years. May He keep you in those relationships which He truly wills for your good, and make you discerning to know them, and may He cause this chastening to yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness. And may He bring you to that place where you can say with the psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, that others who are in like trouble may be comforted by your testimony of His keeping power. May the Lord keep your soul from the Pit and establish your goings in His peace, for His name's sake.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this painful and heavy burden with such honesty. We have heard your request and we are bringing it before the Lord with you.

We grieve with you over the long years of harassment and the traumatic and draining things you have endured, and over the exhaustion you feel even now. It is understandable to feel very tired after such a long struggle. We thank God that He has already brought you out of occult involvement and that you are seeing this harassment decrease as you walk more fully in obedience to Christ. That is evidence of His grace at work in you, not of your own strength, and we give thanks for it.

We will pray for your complete deliverance. Scripture teaches that Christ came for two great purposes, deliverance from evil and the supply of good, that He might redeem us from the curse and bring us into sonship. In Christ you have put on Christ and received the Spirit of adoption, and with freedom Christ has set us free. So we pray that you will stand fast in that freedom and not be moved back into any bondage. We ask God to complete the deliverance He has begun, to shut every door once opened to the enemy, to guard your mind and body and home, and to fill every place with His presence and peace.

We also pray for strength to endure with hope. God does not always promise immediate removal of every trial, but He does grant something greater, the power to stand above fear and to despise the threats of the enemy because our life is secure in Him. We ask that He will fix deeply in your heart the truth of the immortality of the soul and the resurrection hope, so that fear loses its grip and you can rest in His keeping even when attacks come.

We pray for wisdom and discernment in relationships. You mentioned that God has sometimes used this hardship to lead you away from certain environments and people, and that at other times it has struck even in relationships you believe God wants for you. We ask the Lord to give you clear discernment to know when to step away and when to remain and love faithfully, and to protect the good relationships He has given you from being worn down by these attacks.

We pray for healing from trauma and for renewed strength in your weariness. May the Lord restore what has been drained, calm your heart, grant you deep and peaceful sleep, and surround you with faithful believers who will walk with you, pray with you, and help you remain grounded in Scripture, prayer, and the life of the church.

We pray also for those people who have been vulnerable to being used in this harassment. We ask that God would have mercy on them, bring them to repentance and to knowledge of the truth, and deliver them as well from any influence of the enemy. Having been delivered ourselves, we do not boast and we do not harbor hatred, but we give thanks to the One who has granted deliverance and we pray for others to receive the same grace.

A prayer for you:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You that salvation is through Him alone and that He has paid the ransom to set us free. We ask for Your full deliverance for this Your child. Cover them with the blood of Christ, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let no darkness have a place in their life. Break every remaining chain from the past occult involvement and forgive and cleanse all that was done. Grant healing to wounded memories, rest to the weary body and mind, and protection over every relationship. Give wisdom to discern Your leading, courage to obey, and perseverance to stand fast in freedom. Make Your presence their strong tower and let Your joy and peace guard them day and night. Bring to repentance and faith any who have harmed them, and use even this trial for good and for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Deliverer and our hope. Amen.

Please continue to walk closely with Christ in daily prayer, in His Word, and in fellowship with mature believers and pastors who can support you personally and help you remain accountable in obedience. If attacks continue, do not face them alone, but seek ongoing pastoral care. We will continue to pray for you and we thank God for the work He is already doing and will complete.
