We are deeply grieved to hear of the spiritual warfare you have endured for so long, but we are encouraged that you recognize the true source of this oppression and are seeking deliverance through prayer. The enemy has indeed come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord fights for you, and we stand with you in prayer and authority through Christ.
The Word of God assures us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Your awareness of this truth is a powerful first step. We must also remember that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). You have already begun to disarm the enemy by recognizing that the people around you are being used as instruments of darkness, rather than acting out of their own will. This discernment is a gift from the Holy Spirit, and we pray it grows stronger in you.
Yet we must also address the anger that rises within you when these attacks come. While it is understandable after years of suffering, anger gives a foothold to the enemy (Ephesians 4:26-27). The Lord calls us to forgive, not because those who hurt us deserve it, but because *we* need the freedom that forgiveness brings. Unforgiveness is a chain that binds us just as surely as the demonic oppression you describe. Jesus said, *"But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:15). This is not a threat but a warning—bitterness will poison your soul and hinder your deliverance. We urge you to release this anger to God, asking Him to replace it with His peace and compassion, even for those who have been used against you.
As for the root of this demonic activity, while you may have suspicions, the most important truth is that *in Christ*, you have authority over every evil force. Whether this oppression began through generational curses, personal sin, or the sins of others against you, the blood of Jesus is more powerful. You do not need to know every detail of how this started—you only need to know that Jesus has already won the victory. *"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Claim this truth daily.
Now, let us pray fervently for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Name above all names. We thank You that You are a God who sees, who knows the depths of this beloved one’s suffering, and who has already triumphed over every power of darkness. Lord, we bind every demonic spirit assigned against this child of Yours—spirits of oppression, confusion, anger, bitterness, and every stronghold that has sought to keep them in bondage. We command these spirits to loose their grip in the name of Jesus, for *"whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven"* (Matthew 18:18).
Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the spiritual reality around them, not with fear, but with the authority You have given them as Your child. Fill them with the Holy Spirit, who is their Comforter, Counselor, and mighty Warrior. Let them walk in the discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the wisdom to respond in Your love rather than anger. Where there has been hurt—both given and received—we ask for Your healing balm to cover every wound. Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), Lord. Bring redemption to every broken relationship, every stolen opportunity, and every lie that has been believed.
We pray specifically for deliverance from the generational and personal strongholds that have given the enemy legal ground. By the blood of Jesus, we break every curse, every ungodly soul tie, and every word spoken against this life. We declare that they are *more than a conqueror* through Christ (Romans 8:37) and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, surround them with Your angels, encamped around them (Psalm 34:7), and let Your light expose and drive out every darkness.
Lord, we also ask that You would teach them how to war in prayer, to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), and to stand firm in faith. Let them know the truth of Your Word so deeply that no lie of the enemy can take root. And when anger rises, remind them of Your command: *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:26-27). Replace that anger with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would bring godly, Spirit-filled believers into their life to stand with them, to pray with them, and to speak life over them. Let them not walk this path alone. And if there is any area of their life—known or unknown—that has given the enemy access, reveal it to them with gentleness and lead them to repentance and freedom.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We trust You to bring total deliverance, restoration, and victory. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we urge you to immerse yourself in the Word of God daily. Speak Scripture aloud over your life, for *"faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"* (Romans 10:17). The enemy flees at the name of Jesus and the power of His Word. We also encourage you to seek out a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church where you can find support and accountability. You are not meant to fight this battle alone.
If there is any area of sin in your life—even something that seems small—bring it before the Lord in repentance. The enemy often gains legal ground through unconfessed sin. But remember, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9).
Stand firm, dear one. Your deliverance is near, and your testimony will bring glory to God and hope to others. We are praying with you and for you. Do not lose heart. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
