We hear your distress and the torment you are experiencing, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every chain of darkness that seeks to oppress you. What you are describing is not merely a bad dream or an overactive imagination—it is spiritual warfare, and Scripture makes it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no power in heaven or on earth that can stand against the name of Jesus, but we must come to Him in faith, repentance, and surrender. If you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, we pray that you would do so now, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Now, let us rebuke this demonic presence in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word of God declares that the Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). We take authority over every unclean spirit, every imp, every entity that seeks to invade your sleep, and we command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that your mind, your body, and your spirit are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and no demonic force has any right or place in you (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We break every assignment of the enemy against you, and we cancel every plan of torment, oppression, or fear. You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also encourage you to examine your life for any open doors that may have given the enemy a foothold. Have you engaged in any practices that invite darkness, such as occult activities, divination, or even entertainment that glorifies evil? The Bible warns us to have nothing to do with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather to expose them (Ephesians 5:11). If there is anything in your life that does not align with God’s holiness, we urge you to repent and turn away from it. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We also encourage you to fill your mind and heart with the truth of God’s Word. Memorize Scriptures that speak of God’s protection and peace, such as Psalm 91: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart” (Psalm 91:1-4). Speak these truths over your life, especially before you go to sleep.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is being tormented by demonic forces in their sleep. We declare that this oppression must cease in the name of Jesus. We break every chain, every assignment, and every plan of the enemy against them. We command every unclean spirit to leave and to go where Jesus sends them, never to return.
Father, we ask that You would fill this precious one with Your peace, Your presence, and Your protection. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let them rest securely in Your love. We pray that You would reveal any areas of their life that need to be surrendered to You, and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing where sin has given the enemy a foothold. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm on Your Word.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We thank You that You are their refuge and fortress, and that under Your wings, they find safety and rest. May they dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for them. Show them how to walk in victory and how to resist the devil so that he will flee from them (James 4:7). Fill their home with Your presence, and let no darkness remain. We thank You, Father, that You have given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus’ mighty and matchless name, we pray. Amen.
