We hear your cry for every curse to be ended and broken and we agree with you that no curse has authority over those who belong to Christ. The Word tells us in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, and in Numbers 23:23 that there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel. We rebuke every curse, every evil word spoken, every assignment of darkness against you and your son, and we declare that it has no power and must fall to the ground. As Isaiah 54:17 promises, no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. We also take authority as James 4:7 teaches to submit ourselves to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us. We encourage you to walk in that freedom, not in fear, for 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. If there has been any involvement with occult practices, unforgiveness, or opening doors to darkness, we encourage you to renounce it, confess it to the Lord, and walk in the light, putting on the whole armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:11.
We also lift up your son for safe and healthy weight loss and for deep healing from past hurts. We pray for his body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches, that the Lord would give him wisdom, self-discipline, and strength to steward his health in a way that honors God. We pray against any shame or unhealthy striving and ask for grace for balanced nutrition, activity, and rest, trusting 3 John 1:2 that God desires that we prosper and be in health. For the wounds of the past, we ask the Lord who is close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18 and who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3 to bring complete inner healing. We pray that by the wounds of Jesus we would see healing as Isaiah 53:5 promises, and that your son would know he is fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14 and deeply loved, so that old hurts would be replaced with the peace of God.

Feeling weighed down by past hurts and worried about health can be exhausting, and wanting any curse or heavy influence to be broken is understandable. We stand with you in asking Jesus to be their protector and healer, and to bring peace where there has been pain.

We are reminded that our deliverance from the curse is not by a charm or a word of man, but by a redemptive work wrought for us. As it is written, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. He bore in His own body upon the tree the penalty that was due to us, that we might be set free from every condemnation and every chain. Whatever fear or oppression has been laid against you and this dear son, we look to Him who alone has found a ransom, and we ask that the Lord will make His deliverance effectual in your lives, and bring you forth with His own hand.
We pray for this son, that the Lord who is full of pity and compassion will grant him healing in body and in soul. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon him with healing in His wings. We ask the Lord to give him wisdom and self control and strength to care for the body God has given him, that he may lose weight safely and in a way that honors the Lord and restores health. We join you in bringing these needs before the Lord and we pray with you for deliverance, health and healing through Jesus Christ alone.
Scripture teaches that Christ has redeemed us from the curse by becoming a curse for us, and that those who are in Him are blessed and not cursed. For that reason we do not fear spoken curses or imprecations against you and your son, and we do not pray curses in return against others. Prayer and cursing are at variance with each other. The mouth that has been given to pray and to give thanks is to be kept pure, to bless and to forgive, and to ask God for mercy for all. We pray that any evil intended against you and your son would have no power, that fear would be removed, and that you would rest in the peace and protection that belongs to those who are in Christ. If there has been division or spiritual oppression, we pray that God would make you firm and united in Him, for a house divided cannot stand, but Christ is stronger and He gives freedom.
We also pray for your son. We ask the Lord to grant him healing from past hurts, to comfort his heart, to renew his mind through careful hearing and continual remembrance of God's Word, and to give him fortitude and hope. In Scripture the curses pronounced from Mount Ebal were warnings for breaking God's covenant, and the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God's judgment is right. The blessings were promised to those who would diligently heed the voice of the Lord and keep His commandments, while the curses were described as pursuing and overtaking those who turned away from Him. There are many more verses describing the curses than the blessings, a sober reminder of how serious disobedience is.
The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has borne our griefs and infirmities and has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. When we put our trust in Him, we are no longer under that curse but under His grace and mercy. So we pray that any oppression or effect of evil spoken against you and your son would be broken in the name of Jesus, and that you both would walk in the freedom and blessing that comes from belonging to Him and walking in obedience to His voice.
