Deliverance

We join with you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for bringing his needs to the Lord with us.

We pray for his physical health and for his heart. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them, for as it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. We pray that God will give your son strength and self-control, which is part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, to make wise and healthy choices, to find balance in eating and activity, and to lose weight safely in a way that honors the body God gave him. We pray against any unhealthy or dangerous methods and we encourage seeking wise medical counsel and steady discipline, trusting that God will give endurance, for Isaiah 41:10 says fear not, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also lift up the hurts of his past. We serve a God who heals the brokenhearted and who delivers those who cry out to Him. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We pray for deliverance from any bitterness, trauma, rejection, or pain that has taken root, and that your son would know the freedom that comes through forgiveness and through the healing power of Jesus, for Isaiah 53:5 says by his stripes we are healed. We pray he will cast all his anxiety on the Lord because He cares for him, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:6-7.

We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and that we are saved. You did not mention His name in your request, and we want to ensure this foundation is clear, for Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought into relationship with God. We pray your son knows this hope personally and walks in it daily.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we bring this precious son before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask for Your healing hand upon his body and his soul. Grant him health and help him to steward his body well, to lose weight safely and with strength and perseverance. Deliver him from any bondage, whether physical or emotional, and heal the deep hurts of his past. Wash away pain, replace it with Your love and wholeness, and help him to forgive as You have forgiven us. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, renew his mind, and let him know how deeply he is loved and valued by You. Lead him into joy, freedom, and purpose, and let his life glorify You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to speak life and scripture over him, to encourage healthy daily habits with patience and grace rather than shame, and to help him seek godly counsel for both physical health and inner healing, trusting that God who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.

We hear how much you love your son and want wholeness for him in body and heart. Carrying concern for both his physical health and the wounds he still carries from the past is a heavy burden, and we are honored to lift him with you in prayer.

For safe weight loss, the most caring next step is often practical support alongside prayer. If he is open, gently encourage him to see his primary care doctor or a trusted medical professional who can help create a safe, sustainable plan that fits his health and needs. Walking with him in small, consistent ways, like shared meals, walks together, or celebrating steady progress, can mean a lot without adding pressure or shame.

For healing from past hurts, healing often comes slowly and in relationship. Continuing to be a steady, listening presence where he can share at his own pace helps. If those hurts feel deep or stuck, a trusted pastor or Christian counselor can be a helpful companion for him as well.

Father, we bring this son before You. You know his body, his story, and every hurt he carries. We ask for wisdom for any doctors and helpers involved, for safety and strength as he pursues health, and for Your gentle healing in the places that still ache. Comfort him, guide him, and remind him he is deeply loved. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a right and loving thing that you have brought your son before the mercy seat, and we will join our prayers with yours at the throne of grace.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and press upon us, and how much more for those wounds of the heart which lie deeper still. Your son is known to the Lord who made his frame and who sees every hurt that has been lodged within his spirit. There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

We are told that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and this is no work of man but of God alone. Vain is our presumption unless we have had a real healing from His hand.

Let us pray together for your son.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this son who is dear to his parent's heart. You have formed his body and you know his inward parts. Grant him, we beseech You, wisdom and grace to care for the body which is Your handiwork, that he may be strengthened to lose what burdens his flesh in a safe and temperate way, with self control and sound judgment, and not by any harsh or harmful means. Help him to honor You in his body, to use it as a servant for Your glory, and to find his strength not in his own resolve alone but in Your sustaining power.

And, O great Physician, touch also the hurts of his past. You know the sorrows that have broken his heart and the memories that still sting. Speak that word of pardon which brings healing with it, that he may not say, I have been sick, but may know the joy of sins forgiven and the peace of being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Take him by the hand and lift him up as You lifted Peter's wife's mother, that being healed he may rise and serve You. Let the healing leaves of Christ be laid upon his wounds, that his spirit may be made fresh and comely before You.

Teach him to hear Your Word, for faith comes by hearing, and healing is linked with teaching. May he be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and may he learn that Christ took our sicknesses upon Himself, that bitter cup being drained by Himself, that we might go free.

We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ is worthy, who alone is the way of salvation. Grant this son to know Him, to trust Him, and to walk in newness of life. May Your will be done in his body and his soul, for Your glory.

We commend him to Your faithful keeping, and pray in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.
