Deliverance

We join with you in prayer for deliverance and healing for you and your son, and we stand together on the truth that in Jesus Christ curses have no authority over the children of God.

The Word tells us that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. Galatians 3:13. We do not need to live in fear of curses or words spoken against us, for surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel. Numbers 23:23 and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. Isaiah 54:17. When we are in Christ, we are a new creation and there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1. We rebuke any fear or belief that a curse can have power over you or your son when you are covered by the blood of Jesus, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. If there has been any opening to darkness through past sin, unforgiveness, or involvement with occult practices, we encourage you to renounce it and walk fully in the light of Christ, submitting to God and resisting the devil so he will flee from you. James 4:7.

We also lift up your son for his physical health and for healing from past hurts. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who is in us, whom we have from God, and we are called to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Our prayer is as John prayed, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2. We pray that God will give your son wisdom and self-control and discipline to lose weight safely, through nourishing food, healthy habits, and strength for his body, not through harsh or harmful means, but through steady stewardship of the body God has given him. And for the hurts of the past, we know that God is close to the brokenhearted. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. Past wounds, rejection, and pain can leave deep marks, but the Lord is able to restore the soul and renew the mind.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross and through His resurrection that all curses are broken and healing is made available. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You for this dear one and for her son. We thank You that You are our deliverer and our shield. We declare that every curse, spell, word, or scheme formed against them is broken and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. We ask that You cover them with Your protection and fill any place of fear with Your perfect love and peace. Lord, we lift up this son to You. You know his body and You know his heart. We ask for Your healing hand upon him, to guide him to lose weight safely and in a way that honors You and strengthens his health. Give him discipline, encouragement, and hope, and help him to see himself as You see him, fearfully and wonderfully made. Heal him from past hurts, Lord, bind up his wounds, comfort his heart, and renew his mind with Your truth. Help him and his mother to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to walk in freedom. We pray that both of them will grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, trusting Him as Savior and Lord, and experiencing the fullness of Your promises. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to speak the Word of God over your family daily, to pray together in Jesus name, to seek fellowship with other believers, and to pursue healthy rhythms of rest, nourishing food, and daily movement for your son while trusting God for inner healing. The Lord is faithful and He hears our prayers.

We hear the love in your request, wanting freedom and wholeness for both of them, especially this son you carry in prayer. It is tender to bring both spiritual protection and very practical needs like health and healing from old wounds to Jesus at the same time.

We are praying that any influence meant to harm them would have no hold, and that they would know the peace and security of belonging to Christ who is our Deliverer. For this son, we are also praying for gentle, steady healing inside from past hurts. That kind of healing is often not instant, it unfolds as he feels safe enough to process pain with the Lord and with safe people, at his own pace and with his consent.

A helpful next step could be to support him in talking with his primary care doctor about a safe plan for weight, and if he is open, with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor about the past hurts, so prayer and wise care go hand in hand alongside each other.

Father, we lift these two to You and ask for Your protection, freedom and healing over them. Cover them with Your presence, bring wholeness to painful memories, and guide this son to caring help for his health. Lead them closer to You each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in prayer for deliverance and healing, and we bring your request before the Lord who alone is able to save and to restore.

There is one true deliverance from every curse, and it is not by our own power or by any charm of words, but by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. The Scripture declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. He bore in our place the penalty that was due to sin, and through His blood we are bought with a price and set free from the pit. God has found a ransom, His own Son, and therefore we may come with confidence and ask that every work of darkness and every curse spoken against you and your son would be broken and brought to nothing by the power of His finished work. We pray that you both would know that deliverance is of free grace only, wrought by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah, and that as He brought forth His people of old, so He will bring you forth into liberty and peace.

We pray also for your son, that the Lord who is the great Physician would grant him healing in body and in soul. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing beneath His wings, and pardon and healing are one in Him. We ask the Lord to grant your son safe and steady restoration of health in his body, wisdom and self control and strength for each day, and grace to care for the temple which God has given him. We ask too that the Lord would heal the wounds of past hurts, that the bitterness of former sorrows would be taken away, and that the joy of pardon would make the past to be remembered no more with its sting. May the Lord change the life blood and make the nature new, and cause him to live and declare the works of the Lord.

We pray that you both would be kept close to Christ, trusting not in any other hope but in salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. May you find fresh comfort at His table and in His Word, and may He keep you in peace within and without.

We commit you and your son to the gracious keeping of our God, asking that He would perfect what concerns you, and that your deliverance would be attended with His enrichment and His abiding presence, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
