Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden and for allowing prayer for you and your son. I am praying with you for deliverance, for health, and for deep healing from the hurts of the past.
In Scripture the curses you are concerned about are described most clearly in Deuteronomy 27 and 28. From Mount Ebal the curses for disobedience were spoken and the people answered Amen, agreeing that the judgment was right. God showed that blessing would come to those who diligently heeded His voice and kept His covenant, while curses would pursue and overtake those who turned away and walked in the imagination of an evil heart and broke that covenant. Those curses were not random words but the declared consequence of breaking fellowship with God.
The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has borne what we could not bear ourselves. Isaiah says surely He has borne our griefs and carried our infirmities, and Matthew applies that directly to the physical healings of Jesus, when He healed the leper, the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law and many others who were sick and oppressed. At communion Jesus said this is My body which is broken for you. Though not a bone of Him was broken, fulfilling Psalm 22, His body was given and His life poured out so that both sin and its curse and our sicknesses and sorrows could be laid on Him. Through faith in Him we are redeemed from the curse and brought into blessing, not because we have kept the law perfectly, but because He kept it for us and took the judgment in our place.
So I am praying that any voice of condemnation or oppression over you and your son is silenced in the name of Jesus, and that you will walk in the freedom and blessing that are yours in Christ as you trust and obey Him. For your son I am asking the Lord for safe and steady help with weight and health, for wisdom for any doctors and for daily strength to care for his body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, with healthy habits and sustained encouragement. For healing from past hurts I am praying that God, who does not despise a broken and contrite heart, will lift those burdens as you cast them upon Him. He sees every wound, even the deepest hurts that come from broken trust, and He promises to sustain those who bring their cares to Him and to restore and make whole.
May the Lord give you both peace, guard your hearts in Christ, and bring complete healing in spirit, soul and body as you continue to look to Jesus alone for salvation and life.
