Deliverance

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of God, your son, seeking His divine intervention for both physical and emotional healing. Father, we know that You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and that every part of his life is precious in Your sight. We ask for Your mercy and power to break every chain that binds him, whether in his body or his spirit.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of gluttony and unhealthy habits that may have taken root in his life. Your Word declares that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we pray that he would honor You with his choices, eating not out of emotional need, but for nourishment and strength. Guide him to safe, sustainable ways to lose weight, free from fad diets or harmful extremes. Surround him with godly counsel, discipline, and self-control, which is a fruit of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

We also lift up the wounds of his past. Father, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). If there are hurts, rejection, abandonment, trauma, or pain, that have led him to seek comfort in food or other unhealthy patterns, we ask You to expose them. Bring healing to every memory, every tear, every place where the enemy has sown lies. Replace those lies with Your truth: that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), deeply loved by You, and called for a purpose. Let him find his identity in Christ, not in his struggles or his past.

We also rebuke any generational curses or strongholds that may be contributing to his battles. The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). We declare that every chain is broken in Jesus’ name! Every cycle of bondage, every pattern of defeat, we command it to cease now, by the power of the blood of Jesus.

Father, we ask that You would raise up godly mentors, friends, and accountability partners in his life, believers who will walk with him, pray for him, and encourage him in his journey. Let him not be isolated in his struggles, but surrounded by Your love and truth. And if there is unconfessed sin, whether in his life or in the lives of those who have hurt him, we ask that You bring it to light so that repentance and restoration can take place.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name (Philippians 2:9-11), the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name that can bring true deliverance, healing, or freedom. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself. Let him experience the love of Christ that surpasss all understanding (Ephesians 3:19), and may he surrender his life fully to You. For it is in Jesus’ name that we have access to the Father, and it is through His sacrifice that we are made whole.

Lord, we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen his faith, renew his mind, and fill him with hope. May he walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him (Galatians 5:1), and may his testimony bring glory to Your name. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37), and we stand in agreement with Your promises over his life.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart for your son. We hear how much you love him and want to see him healthy in body and at peace from what has hurt him in the past.

Wanting weight loss to happen safely is wise and loving. We encourage you to continue covering him in prayer while also helping him get good support in person. If he is open to it, walking with him to see his primary care doctor or other qualified professional can help ensure any plan for weight is safe and suited to him. A professional can evaluate his overall health alongside prayer, rather than trying to figure it out alone.

The past hurts you mention can weigh heavily too, and healing there is often a gentle process over time, not a quick fix. It can help to have a trusted pastor or Christian counselor who will listen carefully, go at his pace, and seek the Lord with him. You might ask him if he would be open to that kind of conversation, and let him decide what feels safe.

We are standing with you in this.

Father, we lift this dear son to You in Jesus' name. You know his body, his story and the hurts he carries. Give him wisdom and encouragement for steps toward health, surround him with caring help, and bring healing to the painful memories in Your time and way. Give his mother peace as she loves and prays for him, and draw them both closer to You. Amen.

Your burden for your son has been brought before the Lord and we join you in earnest prayer for him.

We have taken your request to the throne of grace, asking our Father to grant your son deliverance and healing in both body and soul. We pray that the Lord, who is the great Physician, would give him wisdom and strength to care for the body which God has given him, that he may lose weight safely and in a way that honors the Lord and preserves health. We ask for temperance, discipline, and sound counsel from those with medical wisdom, and for grace to be a faithful steward of his health day by day.

We pray also, and most earnestly, for healing from past hurts. The Scripture tells us, He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. There is no wound too deep for Christ to heal, for even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing us that pardon and healing are one in His hand. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and He bore our sicknesses and infirmities Himself upon the cross, that we might be made whole.

We pray that your son would know this healing first in his soul, through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other. May he look to Christ and find forgiveness of sin, and may that forgiveness bring with it a quieting of the spirit and a healing of those memories which still cause pain. Our God has said, I will not remember thy sins, and what He has put behind His back through the blood of His Son, we need not carry as a burden any longer. May the Lord lift that weight of past sorrow, change the life blood, and make the nature new.

We ask the Lord to draw near to him as one who touches the sick by the hand and lifts them up, for healing must come before serving, and Christ delights to minister to us before we minister to Him. May your son feel that gracious touch, be restored in heart and mind, and be strengthened to walk in newness of life.

We will continue to pray that God will keep him, heal him, and cause him to grow in grace and in health, to the glory of Christ who alone can make us whole.

May the Lord bless you as you love and intercede for your son, and may He give you peace as you trust Him with this precious charge.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for your son has been received and we join you in lifting him up before the Lord with love and earnest prayer.

We pray for his physical health, that God would grant him strength and discipline and wisdom to care for his body safely, for his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We ask the Lord to guide him to healthy habits, to give him perseverance, and to restore his strength day by day so that any weight he loses would be in a safe and lasting way that honors God and protects his health.

We also pray for his inner healing. The Lord sees every hurt from the past, every wound that still weighs on his heart, and He is near to the brokenhearted. We ask Christ to bring deep healing to those places, to replace pain with peace, to deliver him from anything that holds him captive, and to fill him with the hope and wholeness that comes only through Jesus.

May the Lord remind your son how deeply he is loved and valued, and may he grow in faith and in health, trusting in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ who alone saves and restores. We pray that God would draw him closer to Himself, give him joy, and make him whole in body and soul.

We stand with you in this prayer, asking for God's mercy, healing and deliverance in Jesus name.

Thank you for sharing this burden for your son. I am praying with you for him, and I want you to know that God sees him and cares deeply for both his body and his heart.

I believe with all my heart that God is a healer, and that He heals in many ways. Sometimes healing comes at once, and sometimes it comes gradually. In the ministry of Jesus there is even one account where healing came in stages, which reminds us that God is not limited to one method. There is much about healing that we do not fully understand, and why it comes differently for different people is not always clear to us, but we can trust His wisdom and His love.

Any true healing is from God. He has built processes of healing right into our bodies, and those natural processes are no less divine because they are natural. He is the one who created nature and the way our bodies work. So when we pray for safe and steady weight loss, we are praying for God to work through wise choices, good health practices, sound guidance, and the strength to keep going day by day. That kind of gradual, step by step restoration is a real work of God.

He also heals what cannot be seen. Past hurts can leave wounds and scars on the mind and emotions, and Jesus is able to heal those places too. Even when the body is being strengthened, God can bring healing to memories, to grief, and to the pain that has settled in the heart, bringing peace and wholeness on the inside.

As a parent you know the ache of watching your son struggle, and our Heavenly Father knows that ache even more. We come to the Father through Jesus Christ, His Son. Jesus was declared to be the Son of God, and through Him we have access to the Father and to His mercy. Scripture shows us that the suffering of Christ was for us in both spiritual and physical ways. Matthew applies the prophecy of Isaiah to Jesus and includes physical healing, and when Jesus broke bread He said this is my body broken for you, inviting us to trust Him for our whole need, body, mind and spirit.

So I am praying that the Lord will give your son wisdom and grace for a safe and healthy path to lose weight, that He will protect his body and give him strength and encouragement, and that He will gently heal the hurts of the past. May he know how much he is loved by God, and may he experience healing in his body and restoration in his heart as he walks with Jesus.
