Your prayer for deliverance and for your son has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
In Scripture the curses were proclaimed from Mount Ebal upon those who broke God's covenant. After each curse the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that the judgment was right. Later God made clear that if His people would listen carefully and keep His commandments they would know blessing, but if they turned away from His voice the curses would pursue and overtake them. The Bible spends more time describing the curses than the blessings, because disobedience was the more common path.
That background helps us see what deliverance means for us now. The curse that came from disobedience is real, and it cannot be dismissed lightly. Yet Jesus has borne our griefs and our sicknesses, as Isaiah foretold and Matthew confirms. On the cross He became a curse for us so that those who trust in Him are no longer under the curse of the law. Our prayer is not that a spoken formula will remove a curse, but that you and your son will rest fully in what Christ has already done, confessing any sin, walking in obedience to His voice, and trusting His finished work to set you free.
We also pray for your son's health. You asked that he would lose weight safely and be healed from past hurts. God cares for the whole person, body and heart. In the ministry of Jesus we see that healing does not follow one pattern. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes healing came gradually. Even the natural processes of the body by which weight is lost and strength is restored in a healthy way are part of God's design, and all healing is divine because He is the Creator of those processes. We do not understand why some are healed quickly and others more slowly, but we do believe God is able to heal today, and that He heals not only the body but also the mind and emotions.
Past hurts can leave deep wounds, and holding bitterness only harms the one who holds it. Often the person who caused the hurt is not affected, while the one who carries the resentment suffers most. God wants to heal those scars as well. He can bring a healing to the heart and mind that lifts the weight of old pain.
So we pray for you both, that any oppression will be broken in Jesus' name, that your son will be guided to wise and safe ways to care for his body with self control and strength, and that the Lord will bring deep inner healing where there has been hurt. May He give you peace as you trust Him, lead you to walk closely with Him, and show you His kindness and restoration day by day.
