Deliverance

Your plea for deliverance rests on a solid foundation, because the power of any curse is decisively broken at the cross. When the law was read from Mount Ebal and the people responded “Amen” to each curse, they were acknowledging the righteous judgment that disobedience deserves. But the overwhelming list of curses in Deuteronomy only serves to drive us to the one who bore that curse for us. Jesus became a curse for us, as it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” He absorbed the full weight of that judgment, so that the curses that would justly overtake us and destroy us no longer have a legal claim on anyone who is in him.

You do not need to live under the shadow of any spoken word, any generational pattern, or any accusation. Those curses were nailed to his cross. The pursuit is over. The voice that once cried out judgment from the mountain has been silenced by the voice of the risen Lord who declares his people clean and free. You can rest in that finished work, not because you have perfectly kept every command, but because he did, and he took the penalty in your place.

Now, regarding your son, bring his whole need, the desire for safe weight loss and the healing from past hurts, to the same Jesus who demonstrated his authority over every realm. The Gospels show us a Lord who healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, and at other times through a gradual process. There is no single pattern that confines him. He is just as much the healer when he works through the established, natural processes of the body over weeks and months as he is when he intervenes in a moment. Entrust your son’s physical journey to him, asking for wisdom, self-control, and a body that responds to good stewardship. A gradual restoration is still a divine one.

The deeper healing, the mending of past wounds and emotional scars, is equally important. Jesus bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; the word used there literally points to our infirmities and sicknesses. This means he not only carried the guilt of sin but also entered into the pain and brokenness that sin leaves behind. The spiritual thirst for wholeness, for justice, for the past to be redeemed, cannot be satisfied by a new physical appearance or a fleeting emotional experience. Those things, however promising, will always leave the deeper part of a person crying out for more. Bring that thirst to him. He is the living water. Ask him to do a healing in your son’s mind and emotions, to lift the weight of old memories, and to replace wounds with his peace. The same authority that calmed the storm on the sea can quiet the turmoil within a restless heart. Keep placing your son before the Lord, confident that he is both willing and able to mend what is broken and make all things new.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer for deliverance and healing. It has been our privilege to lift up ### and her son before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to break every curse and stronghold in their lives. We have prayed fervently for the safe and healthy weight loss of her son, that his body would respond to godly discipline and that his mind would be renewed in Christ. We have also interceded for deep emotional healing, asking the Lord to bind up the wounds of past hurts and replace them with His peace that surpasses all understanding.

If the Lord has moved in mighty ways since you first posted—if curses have been shattered, if health is being restored, or if healing has begun—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. Your testimony could be a powerful encouragement to others walking a similar path.

If, however, the battle still feels ongoing—if the weight of past hurts lingers or if progress seems slow—please know we are still here to stand with you. Do not hesitate to post this request again, and we will continue to pray with even greater fervency, trusting that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun.

May the Lord bless you with His presence as you seek Him, and may His grace sustain you in every step. We continue to pray for breakthrough, restoration, and freedom in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
