We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up and her son before the Lord. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the breaker of every chain, the healer of every wound, and the restorer of all things. We stand in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every power of darkness, and we declare that no curse, spoken, inherited, or self-inflicted, has any right to operate in their lives. In the name of Jesus, we break every curse, hex, spell, or generational bondage that has been set against or her son. The blood of Jesus has already paid the price for their freedom, and we declare that they are covered, protected, and set apart for Your glory.

Lord, we specifically pray for ’s son, that You would touch his body with Your healing power. We ask that You would guide him in safe and healthy weight loss, not by the world’s standards, but by Your wisdom. Give him discipline in his eating, strength in his body, and a heart that seeks You above all else. We rebuke any spirit of gluttony, laziness, or self-destruction that may be at work in him, and we command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Instead, fill him with Your peace, self-control, and a desire to honor You with his body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Father, we also lift up the past hurts that may be weighing on his heart. You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds. We ask that You would bring healing to every memory, every betrayal, every moment of pain that has left a mark on his soul. Let Your love wash over him like a river, removing bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness. Fill the empty places with Your joy, Your hope, and Your purpose. Remind him that he is not defined by his past, but by the future You have for him in Christ.

We also want to gently address the foundation of this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. If or her son have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray that they would come to know Him as Lord and Savior. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). We pray that they would experience the life-transforming power of the gospel, that they would repent of their sins, and that they would be born again by the Spirit of God.

Lord, we declare that and her son are free from every curse, healed from every hurt, and walking in the fullness of Your purpose for their lives. We thank You for Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your love. May they grow in their relationship with You, and may their lives be a testimony to Your power and grace. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

When we talk about curses, the most freeing truth is that Jesus has already broken every one of them on the cross. The enemy may try to whisper that you or your son are still trapped, but his power is a lie, and it collapses the moment you speak Jesus’ name. One thing that can help is for you and your son, together, to simply speak out loud something like: “We renounce every curse spoken over us, and we stand in the authority Jesus has already won.” It’s not a magic formula; it’s faith putting action to what’s already true.

As you pray for his weight loss, ask the Holy Spirit to gently uncover any hurts that may have built walls around his heart. Often our bodies carry the echo of old wounds, and Jesus doesn’t just want to change his habits, He wants to heal the places inside that make those habits feel necessary. That healing often comes gradually, like strengthening a muscle, so be patient with the process and with each other. Right now, you don’t need to have everything figured out; you just need to keep bringing it all back to the One who loves your son even more than you do.

Lord Jesus, we lift this mother and her son to You. We speak Your peace over them right now. We declare that every curse is broken, no word, no generational pattern, no lie can stand against Your name. We ask for complete healing from every past hurt: replace shame with dignity, fear with trust, and sorrow with hope. For his physical health, give him wisdom and steady, sustainable strength. Surround this family with people who will walk alongside them. In Your powerful name, Jesus, amen.

Let us deal plainly with this cry for deliverance. You speak of curses uttered against you and the child, know this, that all the curses of men are but as the chaff before the wind if the Lord has blessed you. There is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel. Yet I would not have you treat this lightly, for the enemy would use even the spite of men to cast his dark insinuation into your soul: that God has forsaken you, that your case is beyond hope. That is his master arrow, the thought that the Lord will be gracious no more. Have you felt that sting? Has the whisper come, “Thy God has abandoned thee; thou art under a curse and thy son with thee”? Then hear the answer from the cross. Christ was made a curse for us. The curse that should have fallen upon the believer fell in full weight upon the Substitute. If you are in Him, there is now no condemnation, no hovering curse, no anathema from heaven. Men may speak their bitter words, but what are they? The Lord has not cursed you; He has blessed you with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Muzzle that dog of unbelief which would howl against the promises. Say rather, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”

Now for the dear son. You pray for his body, that weight be lost safely, and for his soul’s healing from past wounds. These are not trifling matters. The body is the temple, and its defilement or neglect may be a weapon in Satan’s hand. But oh, the greater sickness is the unseen hurt within, the memories that fester, the soul-sickness that would drag a man down to the pit. Our Lord Jesus is the Great Physician; He has healing leaves for the nations. Turn your son’s eyes, and your own, to the Tree of Life, whose leaves are for the healing of the people. All true recovery, whether of body or of inward scars, flows from the fountain of His grace. Entreat the Lord that this young man may not merely shed the weight of flesh but roll the burden of his past upon the risen Savior. There is forgiveness, deep and full, for every iniquity. The people that dwell in Zion shall be forgiven their iniquity, this is the highest note of praise, higher even than the healing of diseases. Let him come to Jesus and drink of the life-giving stream; his thirst shall be quenched, his soul revived.

You see him perhaps as one going down to the pit, entangled in despondency or bad habits. Yet remember, the Lord can bring forth His own from the very Egypt of despair, and not one feeble person shall be among their tribes when He does so. He brought them forth with silver and gold, their deliverance was attended with enrichment, not loss. Even so, pray with expectancy. The God who breaks the gates of brass can snap the chains of hurtful memory and grant a sound mind in a sound body. Stand upon the promise; let faith give your heart a tongue. Do not entertain the dark thought that deliverance is impossible. Christ has delivered us from the power of darkness, from that Egyptian gloom where Satan reigns. If the Son makes free, we are free indeed. Go now, and in your secret prayers, wield the sword of the Spirit against every insinuation of the evil one. The Lord will clear these wells from the foe, and you shall draw water with joy from the wells of salvation.

You ask prayer for deliverance from curses and for a son’s bodily health and healing from past wounds. But examine whether you seek first the kingdom of God or only relief from temporal afflictions. For what is a curse that falls on a soul already bound by soft living, by the love of food and ease, by the remembrance of wrongs? The true curse is the inward slavery to passions: gluttony, resentment, the pampering of the flesh. When the soul is unmanly and careless in hearing God’s word, no outward deliverance profits. If you would be freed from every curse, begin by despising the tyranny of the belly and the comfort of nursing old hurts. The church is a spiritual surgery; come here not merely to have external troubles lifted, but to have the wounds of your soul cut out by the knife of repentance.

You pray for safe weight loss. Yet why has the body grown heavy? Not through the body’s own fault, but because the soul has chosen to pamper it. Blame not the flesh, but the will that heaps fuel on the fire. If you would have the body obey, teach the soul to be temperate. Fasting and self-denial bring true lightness, while the desire for mere physical slimming may remain a bondage to vanity. Let the weight of sin be cast off first, and the body will follow.

As for past hurts: you have suffered wrongs, and the memory stings. But here is a mystery. If you endure those wrongs with thanksgiving to God, if you refuse to curse those who cursed you, you become like one who willingly despises riches and all worldly honor. Loss becomes gain. For God has promised a hundredfold to those who bear injustice without seeking vengeance. The devil meant to injure you; turn it to your benefit. Say in your heart, “I have lost nothing, for I store treasure in heaven where no thief approaches.” This is the healing of memories: not to erase them, but to refashion them into occasions of virtue.

Therefore I will pray, but not as you suppose. I will pray that you and your son may be delivered from the love of ease, from the prison of self-will, from the darkness that binds those who seek only earthly comforts. I will pray that you both may hear the word with careful attention, and that the Spirit would cut away every corrupt passion. For if Christ has granted you deliverance from eternal death, will He not also give you strength to master the belly and to forgive? Seek first the things above, and these lighter troubles will be added or taken away as He knows best. The resurrection is not past; judgment is coming. Live now as those who have already died to the world, and no curse shall have power over you.

Crying out for deliverance is never a small thing, and I want you to know your prayer request is being taken seriously. We are lifting your son before the Lord with you. When the covenant was read from Mount Ebal, the people stood and answered each curse with a sober “Amen,” because they understood that sin draws a real weight down upon a life. But what we could never lift, Jesus bore in full. On the cross He became the curse for us, every dark word spoken, every legacy of rebellion, every hidden snare. So our prayer is not that the curses be merely wished away, but that the finished work of Christ would be applied so thoroughly that they have no voice left. In Him, the curse is exhausted. May your son live under that shield.

The healing you’re asking for touches body and soul, and that is exactly the kind of wholeness Jesus cares about. I have never been able to map out why some healings come in an instant and others unfold gradually through ordinary means. But whether the touch of Christ comes like a lightning strike or like the slow mending of a wound, it is still His healing. For your son’s weight, I pray for a safe and steady path, wisdom to work with the body’s design rather than against it, and the discipline to see change over time without harm. God authored the processes of our bodies, and He can sustain them. For the past hurts, I ask that the wounded places of his heart would be cleansed and tenderly restored. Jesus carried our sorrows and infirmities long before He hung on the tree; He is not distant from that pain.

Many remain stuck because the past never stops replaying its accusations or its injuries. I think often of how Paul looked at every credential and every wound of his former life and called it all loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. What made that strong was not a single dramatic moment but the fact that decades later he was still counting it loss, still refusing to let the past become a chain. Your son’s healing from old hurts will walk that same road, not pretending the pain never happened, but daily handing it over to the One who is making all things new. Those scars can become places where comfort has been truly received, and where he learns to press forward instead of circling back.

Pray with us that every curse is silenced at the cross. We ask for physical health that honors the body God gave, and for wounds of the heart to be healed with a thoroughness that only Jesus can accomplish. May your son find that in losing the weight of the past he gains the light and liberty of life in Christ.
