Deliverance

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up and her son before the Lord. Father, we stand in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, for there is power in no other name to break chains, dissolve curses, and bring true deliverance. The Word declares in Galatians 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" Lord, we claim this truth over and her son. Every curse spoken, inherited, or sent their way, whether through words, generational sin, or spiritual warfare, is broken now in the mighty name of Jesus. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against their lives, their health, their minds, and their futures. Let every evil report be nullified, and let Your healing virtue flow through their bodies, souls, and spirits.

We pray specifically for ’s son, that You would grant him safe and lasting weight loss, not by the world’s standards, but by Your divine design. Lord, You know the deep hurts he carries, rejection, pain, or wounds from the past that may have led to emotional eating or unhealthy habits. We ask You to heal those places, Father. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Pour Your love into his heart, Lord, and let him know his worth is found in You alone. Replace every lie with Your truth, every sorrow with Your joy, and every bondage with Your freedom. Guide him to godly discipline, wise choices, and a renewed mind, as Romans 12:2 instructs, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."

Father, if there are areas in their lives that have opened doors to the enemy, unrepented sin, unforgiveness, or involvement in occult practices, we ask You to reveal them. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." Give them the courage to repent and turn fully to You. We also pray for protection over their minds, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to "take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned, according to Isaiah 54:17.

Lord, we declare that and her son are covered by the blood of Jesus. No curse can stand against them, no sickness can remain, and no past hurt can define their future. We speak life, health, and wholeness over them. May they walk in the fullness of Your purpose, free from every chain, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We join you in praying for your son, asking that every curse spoken against him be broken by the authority of Jesus. We trust that Christ’s victory is complete, and we stand with you in that confidence.

Alongside that, we pray for the healing you’ve named, his body, his safety in losing weight, and the deep places where past hurts still ache. Healing often unfolds over time, not always in a single dramatic moment, but God is gentle and faithful in the process. One practical thought: if he hasn’t already, encouraging him to see a doctor or a wise nutritionist could be a tangible way to care for his body while trusting God for the outcome. Our bodies matter to the Lord, and safe, steady steps honor that.

For the emotional wounds, a patient conversation with a pastor or a mature friend might help him begin to put words to what hurts, and to find that he doesn’t carry it alone.

Father, we lift this son to You now. In Jesus’ name we break any curse or word spoken against him and declare that he belongs to You. Grant him wisdom and self-control as he pursues physical health, and surround him with Your peace. Heal the memories and sorrows that weigh on his heart. Draw him close, and let him know he is deeply loved. Amen.

You have been carrying a heavy load, and the enemy has not been idle. He shoots his arrows in the dark, whispering that you are forsaken, that your prayers rise no higher than the ceiling, that some curse has settled over your household like a damp fog that will not lift. That is his oldest weapon, the insinuation that God has drawn back His hand and will be gracious no more. I know that arrow well; I have felt it quiver in my own soul many times. But hear this: it is a lie from the pit, and no arrow forged in hell can pierce the shield that is spread over you. The Lord has not forsaken you. He has not given you over to any curse, for Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law, being made a curse for you. Every dark word spoken against you and your son is drowned in the blood that speaks better things. When Satan accuses, Christ intercedes; when the enemy says “forsaken,” the nail-scarred hand points to the cross and says “finished.” You are not under a curse, you are under the feathers of the Almighty.

Take to yourself the promise that He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall trust. Picture the mother bird shielding her young from the hawk; as she spreads her wings, the little ones are hidden and warm and safe, though the danger circles overhead. So the Lord Jesus gathers you and your boy into His own nearness. The curses you fear are nothing but the noise of archers at the wells of drawing water, and the Lord has cleared those wells for you. The living water is still flowing; you may drink freely and be refreshed, and lead your lad to drink as well. The past hurts he carries are known to the Great Physician. There is healing for the wounds that fester in secret, for the memories that weigh the spirit down and show themselves even in the body. Christ has leaves from the tree of life that are for the healing of the nations, and they are for your son, for the deep places of his hurt, for the habits that have fastened on him in his sorrow. When the Lord brings His people out of bondage, He brings them forth with silver and gold, and there is not one feeble person among their tribes. Not one. That includes your son. He shall be brought forth from this season of heaviness with gain, with a wholeness that the years the locusts ate cannot rob.

You are not shouting at a closed heaven. The very groan that says “Lord, deliver us” is itself a proof that the Spirit is moving in you, making intercession with groanings that cannot be uttered. The Lord does not despise the cries of His own. When you ask for deliverance, you are asking according to His will, for He is the God who brought Israel out of Egypt and Christ out of the tomb. He delights to deliver. He delights to heal. He delights to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captive free. So do not muzzle your faith. Speak it out: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Speak it over your household. Speak it over your son in the quiet of the night. The Lord has yet works of grace to do in him, and no power of darkness can stop that hand. Let this hope steady you. The future is hidden from you because the freshness of mercy must surprise you day by day. But the One who holds tomorrow holds you both.

---

Father, into Thy strong and tender hands I commend this mother and her son. Break every bow of the enemy, silence every lying voice, and pour Thy healing balm into the wounds that memory keeps fresh. Give this dear son a wholesome deliverance, in body, in mind, in spirit, and let him know the lightness of a forgiven and restored soul. Show Thyself as their shield and exceeding great reward. In the name of Jesus Christ, who ever liveth to make intercession, Amen.

The weight of the body and the scars of the soul cry out for more than a mere lightening of the flesh. You ask for deliverance from curses and for a son’s healing. See then what alloy mingles with your prayer. For what if he is indeed freed from the heavy burden of the body, yet remains soft and unmanly in spirit? What if the past hurts are stanched, but the heart, freed from that pain, becomes remiss and careless about the hearing of the word? No one part is sufficient for our salvation. There is required a careful hearing, a continual recollection, and a deliverance from all worldly things.

Consider the nature of the gain you seek. The very suffering of wrongs, the struggle with the flesh, the memory of injury, these things, if borne with thanksgiving, become the furnace in which virtue is forged. It is not the same thing to practice contempt for comfort over a long time as it is to have it all at once removed. The loss you feel, the battle he fights, becomes gain. For if, suffering wrong, he learns to be thankful, he is like one who despises the soft life, for he could not do this had he not first learned to despise it. You will not be injured, but even benefited, if the past hurts become the road by which he turns to God, making him a captive no longer to the memory of pain, but a servant of Christ.

As for the weight of his body, it is the pampering of the soul that inflames every disordered desire. To correct the outward form while the unruly passion of the soul remains uncorrected is extreme folly. The evil one delights in making us crush the instrument as if its Maker had erred. The work is not to fix the body in isolation, but to let the soul choose to mortify it, possessing absolute power over it. Let this work be done not for the display of men, but in secret. You have become like to God in seeking your son's wholeness; be then like Him in not making a display of the healing, but let the transformation be known only to the Father who sees in secret.

The curses you speak of, what are they but chains that seek to draw him from his true kindred? But the Son has declared, "Of all that Thou gavest Me, I will surely lose nothing." Not through fault of His, not because He abandons, but He holds fast those who cling to Him. The deliverance you seek is this: that he be not cast out of the liberty of the sons of God, that he receive the promise of promotion from the curse to sonship. This is the twofold effect of Christ’s work: deliverance from evil and the supply of good. Do not seek merely the ending of a word spoken against him, but that he might stand complete, having put on Christ, in whom the Father is glorified. For what the Father hath is the Son's, and the Son is glorified in those for whom He died equally as the Father is. Let this be the end of your prayer: not a smaller body or a forgetful mind, but that he may be a vessel in which the Son is glorified, and that the deceivers who unsettle the soul with past evils be cut off from having any power over him.
