We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our prayers, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him into your heart as Lord. Without Him, we have no authority to stand against the schemes of the enemy.
Now, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ name to break every curse that has been spoken, generational or otherwise, over these precious lives. The Word declares in Galatians 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" We rebuke every assignment of darkness that has sought to oppress, hinder, or bring harm. Every word spoken in anger, bitterness, or witchcraft, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is nullified by the blood of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment is condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
For the son mentioned here, we pray specifically for safe and godly weight loss. We ask the Lord to renew his mind with truth about his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). May he find discipline and self-control, which are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and may the Lord lead him to wise choices in diet, exercise, and rest. We also pray for healing from past hurts, whether from rejection, betrayal, or abuse. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that He bind up every wound and replace pain with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask that You surround this family with Your angels to guard and protect them. Let Your light expose every hidden darkness, and may Your love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). We declare that they are no longer slaves to sin or the enemy’s lies but are children of God, heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them.
We also encourage this family to seek godly counsel and community. The enemy thrives in isolation, but iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). May they find a Bible-believing church where they can grow in faith, accountability, and discipleship. If there are unconfessed sins, whether in their lives or in their family line, we urge them to repent and turn away from them, for the Lord is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Finally, we pray that their testimony would bring glory to God. May their deliverance and healing be a light to others who are bound, and may they walk in the fullness of the destiny God has for them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
