We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed and set free from every curse and bondage. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father God, we stand in the authority of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and we break every curse that has been spoken, inherited, or brought against this family. We declare that the blood of Jesus cleanses and protects them from every evil assignment. In the name of Jesus, we command every generational curse, word curse, or spiritual oppression to be broken now by the power of the cross. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
We lift up this young man, praying for his physical health and weight loss. Lord, we ask that You would guide him in making wise choices about his body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Grant him discipline, self-control, and a desire to honor You with his health. We pray for safe and sustainable weight loss, free from fad diets or harmful practices. Strengthen his body, renew his energy, and help him to see himself as You see him, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
Father, we also bring before You the hurts of his past. Heal the wounds of his heart, whether they be from rejection, abandonment, bullying, or any other pain. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Pour out Your comfort and peace upon him, reminding him that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Replace every lie he has believed about himself with Your truth, he is loved, accepted, and cherished by You.
We rebuke any spirit of gluttony, addiction, or emotional eating that may be at work in his life. We declare that he is not a slave to his appetites or his past, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who gives power to overcome every temptation (Galatians 5:16). Surround him with godly influences, friends, mentors, and family members who will encourage him in his walk with You and his journey toward health.
Lord, we also pray for his spiritual growth. Draw him closer to You, that he may know Your will for his life. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in obedience to You. May he find his identity in Christ, not in his appearance, his past, or the opinions of others. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ. May they walk in the freedom, healing, and purpose You have for them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
