We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our faith—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed and set free. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every curse that has been spoken or enacted against these precious lives. The Word of God declares that Christ became a curse for us so that we might receive the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13-14). We rebuke every generational curse, every word of death or destruction, and every assignment of the enemy in Jesus’ mighty name. The Lord God Almighty is our shield and defender, and no weapon formed against His children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We command every curse to be broken and rendered powerless now, in the name of Jesus.
Father, we lift up this son who is struggling with his weight and carrying the weight of past hurts. Lord, You see his heart and know the pain he has endured. We ask for Your healing touch to mend the broken places in his soul. Your Word tells us that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We pray for physical healing and restoration, that his body would be strengthened and renewed. Help him to lose weight in a way that honors You, with discipline and self-control, but also with grace and compassion for himself. Remind him that his worth is not found in his appearance but in being fearfully and wonderfully made by You (Psalm 139:14).
Lord, we also ask for emotional healing. Past hurts can leave deep scars, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We declare that the spirit of heaviness is lifted, and the garment of praise is put upon him (Isaiah 61:3). Surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and family—who will speak life and truth into him. Let him find his identity in Christ, not in the pain of his past.
We also address any areas where unforgiveness may be holding him captive. Your Word commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). If there is bitterness, resentment, or anger in his heart, we pray that You would soften it and replace it with Your peace. Help him to release those who have hurt him into Your hands, trusting that You will bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing.
Father, we ask that You would fill this young man with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let him experience the freedom that comes from living a life surrendered to You. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37), and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
